Job Description
This is a great opportunity to join our Wells department as a Completions Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing completions support to the Supervisors and Workover Engineers both when the Rig is Operational and non-Operational. You will ensure that rig activities are correctly recorded, and that equipment run has been checked and conforms to required standards. Â
This is a Monday-Friday office-based role at Wytch Farm, Dorset.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Work with Lead Workover Engineer and Site Services Manager to provide operational support and duty cover for workovers and interventions
- Work with Wells Team Lead, Senior Well Engineer, Rig Manager & Drilling Manager to ensure the technical integrity of completions operations is maintained
- Support Lead Workover Engineer to manage and meet workover budgets
- Provide technical input to procurement and contracts teams for completion equipment
- Ensure equipment procurement and lead times are managed to facilitate budgeted workovers

- Interface with PE & engineering teams to prepare completions SOR documents.
- Support Lead Workover Engineer and Well Intervention Engineer to prepare HSE Submissions, workover programmes & completion drawings ensuring they comply to legislation and Perenco standards
- Set up, review and agree rig timings with Lead Workover Engineer and Workover Supervisor
- Optimise generic completion designs to improve completion efficiency and production
- Specify and select detailed equipment requirements
- Liaise with SSM on equipment requirements, delivery and long lead issues
- Control and monitor purchased equipment (liaise with WYF Stores), managing stock levels for completions equipment
- Attend, daily / weekly planning meetings to ensure co-ordination between Workover and asset operations.
- Complete completions related eMOCs for any changes to the way we operate
- Assist the planning of Rig moves and set up new Wells on group reporting system

- Demonstrate HSE leadership on site and support Workover Supervisor to deliversafe and efficient operations.
- Support Lead Workover Engineer with all programme amendments and equipment / services requirements.
- Collate equipment call off lists for use by the site team.
- Provide technical support to Workover Supervisor during workovers.
- Update well completion schematic post workover
- Collect lessons learnt and track NPT
- Produce end of well summary report
- Prepare rig timings with WS
- Ensure WHM sheets are filled out & valve S/N updated on tree drawing on EOWR
- Responsible for all well handovers
- Responsible for updating intranet report daily
- Complete site positioning eMOCs for all workovers
- Sign off jobs in Maximo for WHM & DHSV/DHIV
- Ensure an up-to-date equipment and services list is maintained for 'on site' items and personnel
- Oversee timely call out and return of equipment from site
- Carry out logistic reviews on a regular basis to help understand lessons learnt and enable improvements to the current system
Performance Monitoring                                                                           Â
- Ensure accurate, detailed records of operations are kept, including well diaries, completion drawings, serial numbers, final tallies etc.            Â

Manage the specification (SOR), procurement and stockage of:
- Completion jewellery                                                                                   Â
- Electrical Cables and accessories                                                                                             Â
- Control Lines                                                                                    Â
- Tubing
- Wellheads
Costs                                                                   Â
- Review cost forecasts / AFEs and ensure costs are managed in line with targets
- Collate quotations to allow cost estimation
- Review Invoices where required
- Provide technical input to procurement and contracting
- Ensure all PRs for the well are raised and POs are correct and issued to suppliers
- Oversee purchase order values against cost trackers to ensure orders do not overspend
- Review options for reducing costs, such as bringing work in house, or changing how we work
- Set up and maintain a daily cost tracking system for equipment on location to allow comparison between budgets and estimated spend, and a daily rig cost to be produced           Â
- Check and agree all stock transactions against Rig team cost codes          Â
SEC & Personal Safety Courses:
- IWCF L4 Well Intervention Pressure Control (Supervisor) or equivalent
- Task Based Risk Assessment (Level 2)
Key Requirements Include:
- Qualifications: IWCF L4 Well Intervention Pressure Control (Supervisor)
- Degree qualification in relevant Engineering or Science discipline
Experience:
- Experience with well intervention & workover operations essential
- Broad understanding of completion equipment required
Personal Attributes:
- Ability to self-motivate and work as part of a small team
- Good verbal & written communication skills
- A good aptitude for problem solving and troubleshooting
- Well organised and able to prioritise workload effectively
