About the Role

Base Location: Perth, Scotland

Salary: £37,600 - £56,400 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Permanent Full Time Flexible First options available

What is the role?

As ROI Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for processing and reconciling the monthly payroll and expenses runs to ensure SSE employees in the Republic of Ireland are paid accurately and on time each month. Working with the wider Payroll Management team, you'll make a positive contribution to the overall functioning of the payroll service and wider HR team. You'll build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to aid the seamless processing of payroll and expenses on a monthly basis, in addition to identifying and implementing opportunities for improvement to existing payroll processes.

The main responsibilities of this role are:

- Manage the timely processing of payroll inputs on a monthly basis in line with established deadlines, including bulk-changes in line with SSE's periodic review of salaries and associated allowances.

- Accurately reconcile and pay all payroll liabilities due on a monthly basis, including statutory returns for revenue and pension scheme administration.

- Operate, maintain, and implement robust controls to ensure compliance with appropriate legislation within the Republic of Ireland and internal SSE policies and keep up to date with legislative changes affecting Irish Payroll, ensuring changes are captured, implemented and briefed out to key stakeholders.

- Manage and undertake statutory patch testing and ad-hoc user acceptance testing as required to ensure our payroll system remains compliant.

- Support the Payroll Administrators with error resolution throughout the payroll and expenses cycles.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we'd love you to have:

- A proven track record of delivering an in-house payroll service of a similar size (c. 1,000 employees) and in a similar senior role.

- Broad knowledge of the payroll function including running, reconciling, controls and preparation of liabilities for third parties with excellent problem solving and analytical ability.

- Working knowledge of current Irish payroll legislation is desirable.

- Extensive experience in using and managing payroll systems (experience of Oracle EBS would be a considerable advantage).

- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently to multiple statutory and business deadlines.
