The Role
We have an exciting opportunity within our nursing team at Pride Veterinary Referrals, for a Rotating Nurse to join us on a full-time basis. Our successful candidate will be a Registered Veterinary Nurse with at least 1 year of post-qualification experience. The hours of work will be full-time (avg 38hrs/week) over a 4 day working week, with 1:6 weekends. We are offering a salary up to £29,450pa for this position, plus extensive company benefits.
As a Rotating Nurse, you will work across a broad range of disciplines within the hospital including Wards, Medicine, Neurology, Surgery, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Imaging and Theatre. You'll have the opportunity to learn and develop your clinical skills within a varied multidisciplinary referral environment, working with a highly experienced and supportive team. Your responsibilities will include:
Monitoring sedations/ anaesthetics
Inpatient care- Tube feeding/ Physiotherapy/ Drain care/ Catheter care/ Drug administration etc
Imaging- X-ray/ Ultrasound/ CT/ MRI
Transfusion Medicine
Assisting with diagnostic procedures such as bone marrow biopsies, joint taps, Fluoroscopy
Admits/ Discharges
Drug calculations/ fluid calculations/ CRI's

Applicant Requirements
Due to the nature of the role, our successful applicant will be a qualified RVN with at least 1 year post-grad experience, as some aspects of the role will involve working independently. Referral experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided. Any further qualifications e.g. certificates are beneficial, and you should be able to demonstrate clinical competence in standard nursing protocols.
