Registered Veterinary Nurse – Rotating Nurse
Blaise Veterinary Referral Centre
Up to £34,000pa DOE plus benefits and up to £5000 relocation allowance
As the opening date for our new purpose-built hospital, Blaise Veterinary Referral Centre, approaches, we are delighted to now be accepting applications for Rotating Nurses to join our team.
This is a clinical role working in various disciplines within the hospital, this will include surgery, neurology, medicine, oncology and wards. We will welcome both full time and part time applications for this position, and work patterns are expected to vary between 07:00-22:00, with a rotation of weekends and on-call for some services.

At IVC Evidensia, we have over 100 referral sites that have joined our UK & Ireland network over the years. Blaise Veterinary Referral Centre is our first Multidisciplinary Specialist Referral Site that we have built from the ground up. This creates a unique opportunity for you to be a part of our journey from the very beginning. Situated in Longbridge, Birmingham, it is set to be one of the largest, multi-disciplinary referral hospitals in the UK and will have the capacity to treat up to 10,000 pets per year.
Sustainability has been a key priority for us, and we have included several green and wellbeing initiatives in the hospital in line with our Positive Pawprint strategy across the group. The hospital will be one of the largest in the UK at over 36,000 sq ft, with the capacity to treat up to 10,000 pets per year. From the site we will provide specialist led multi-discipline veterinary referrals and a 24-hour emergency care service for pet owners across the Midlands. The site has easy access from the A38 through Longbridge and is part of the West Longbridge regeneration project. The site has been designed to ensure that an open plan collegiate working environment is created to support the positive and supportive culture that is integral to us.

This is a clinical role working in various disciplines within the hospital. The set rotations will include surgery, neurology, medicine, oncology and wards - but we will encourage all our nurses to work collaboratively and with flexibility to help all services, and ensure the highest possible standards of care are achieved. Our Rotating Nurses will deal with patients from admit until discharge, this will include patients who present as urgent referral cases and include inter-disciplinary transfers from other services within the hospital. Within this role, our nurses will work to support our Specialist Teams to deliver excellent levels of care to their patients. This will include inpatient care, supporting with surgical and medical procedures, diagnostics such as CT/MRI, and monitoring anaesthesia. All of our nurses will be expected to work to a very high standard adopting an open and supportive team approach and using excellent communication skills.
Relevant experience and personal attributes:
You must be a Registered Veterinary Nurse.
Any further qualifications would be desirable, but these are not essential.
A keen interest in working towards clinical excellence in a multidiscipline referral hospital.
Previous experience in a referral hospital is desirable, but not essential. However, you must be able to demonstrate a high level of clinical knowledge and practical competence.

Commitment to the prioritisation of animal welfare, with the desire to provide the highest standard of patient care.
Positive outlook with confidence and belief in own abilities.
Working pattern
We will welcome full or part time applications for this position. Shift times for this role will vary depending on which discipline you are working within – so you should expect working patterns to vary between 0700-2200, please note this will include weekends and on-call for some services.
