Key Responsibilities:
*Implement and monitor the school’s policies and procedures on child welfare and safeguarding.
*Act as the first point of contact for students, staff, parents, and external agencies regarding student welfare concerns.
*Maintain accurate and confidential records of all safeguarding issues and actions.
*Coordinate with external agencies such as social services, healthcare professionals, and the police, when necessary.
*Deliver training sessions on safeguarding to staff and students to enhance awareness and understanding.
*Provide direct support and counseling to students facing emotional, social, or behavioral challenges.
*Promote a safe, caring, and supportive environment across the school.

Requirements:
*Relevant professional qualification (e.g., NVQ, Degree) in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field.
*Proven experience in a safeguarding role within an educational setting or similar environment.
*Thorough knowledge of the current legislation, guidelines, and policies relating to child protection.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to deal sensitively with complex and distressing situations.
*Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases effectively.
*Enhanced DBS check clearance.

Desirable Attributes:
*Experience in delivering training on safeguarding issues.
*Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
*A proactive and preventative approach to student welfare.
