Help us create a better future, quicker
Our Retail business provides energy to millions of households and businesses across the UK. At ScottishPower we want to do the right thing for our customers. We believe in fair pricing and offer a choice of tariffs to suit customer needs. We offer products that help our customers control and protect the energy in their homes and the flexibility to help customers manage their energy accounts today, tomorrow and in the future.

At ScottishPower Retail, we know people are central to building a better future, quicker and we are seeking new talent to join our team.

What you’ll be doing
As Sales Development Manager, you will develop the Sales and Quality strategy for our sales channels in the UK, becoming a strategic enabler for growth and key contributor to the overall Retail customer growth target.

Responsible for ensuring all ScottishPower compliance and Standard of Conduct principles are implemented across the channels, you will take ownership for the management of complaints and complaint analysis.

Delivering SLAs in line with contractual agreements, you will also develop, manage and analyse sales reporting, overall partner performance and regional performance.

Contributing proactively to the broader ScottishPower overall sales channel development strategy to encompass all existing and potential new RTM’s, you will develop strategic partnerships that have the potential to deliver increased sales for the Energy Retail business whilst leading negotiations with external companies, sales agencies and partners.

What you’ll bring

With an in depth understanding of the Energy Industry and specifically sales processes, you will possess effective leadership skills to develop, manage, motivate and inspire a team to become industry leaders.

Displaying a broad range of strategic, business and leadership skills gained at a senior level, with the ability to lead and manage a complex operation within a dynamic marketplace whilst ensuring the long-term direction is not compromised, you will be able to influence a wide portfolio of stakeholders with differing interests.

With a high level of knowledge, tact and diplomacy, both in written and oral communication, you will possess highly developed influencing and relationship management skills, given the dependency on internal resources.

An in depth understanding of Outsourced Sales including Affinity Partnerships, external Call Centre operations and outsourced Domestic, SME Sales Partners & Agencies is beneficial.

What’s in it for you

As well as a competitive salary which is reviewed annually, you can also enjoy a number of other benefits. With our pension scheme, we’ll double match your contribution up to a company contribution of 10%.

At ScottishPower, we believe it’s the little things we do in life that make a big difference. From helping you look after your family’s wellbeing, save for your future and take personal steps for climate action – our benefits are designed to help you do just that - so that you have everything you need to take care of your world – today and tomorrow. That’s why our benefits include:

  • 36 days annual leave

  • Holiday purchase – perfect your work/life balance with extra annual leave

  • Share Incentive Plan and Sharesave Scheme

  • Payroll giving and charity matched funding

  • Technology Vouchers – save more and spread the cost of your technology purposes

  • Count us in – pledge to reduce carbon emissions and help fight climate change

  • Electric Vehicle Schemes – to help you transition to green/clean driving

  • Cycle to Work scheme and public transport season ticket loans

  • Options to purchase dental insurance, private medical insurance, health cash plan and annual health assessments

  • Life Assurance (4x salary)

  • Access to ‘nudge’ financial wellbeing support

  • Plus shopping, leisure, restaurant and gym discounts, and unique employee deals on travel insurance and more
