Job Description We are currently seeking an individual for the role of Sales Development Manager, Bioinformatics to support continued business growth of the APIS Assay Technologies bioinformatics services portfolio. This business-critical role is responsible for generating new business growth, and achieving agreed sales target. Our comprehensive suite of genomic and proteomic bioinformatics services includes software development, in-silico research, bio-data cloud management, and custom-made pipeline development. The ideal candidate has a degree in bioinformatics, molecular biology, life science or related field, and is an experienced sales professional including at least 2 years of proven sales success in the bioinformatics field. They are able to demonstrate sales leadership skills and have a proven track record of meeting and exceeding ambitious sales targets. They are a dynamic individual who can hit the ground running and excel in growing the business. Specific responsibilities · Plan and exceed on a defined & agreed sales plan by developing knowledge of the target market (pharma, biotech and diagnostics companies) / geographical territory, and executing the plan with a sense of urgency · Develop and implement lead generation strategies, and perform outreach and lead qualification, including daily outbound cold calling and email nurturing activities to qualify new prospects · Qualify prospects/leads and convert opportunities into revenue-generating customers by demonstrating a deep understanding of their immediate & future user needs and requirements · Independently generate quotes, negotiate, and close sales by active virtual relationship selling primarily using Teams Meetings · Manage and work in close coordination with distributor sales channels to achieve agreed sales targets · Key account management of existing and new accounts, understand the roles and influences of all the customer stakeholders and procurement procedures, work with APIS functional experts to complete customer quotes, and ensure APIS services and products, are delivered satisfactorily · Measure and report on the status of the lead/opportunity pipeline target and sales results · Proactively propose new sales initiatives and strategies facilitating successful conversion of sales prospects into sales and continually learn and be abreast of service and product releases · Work independently in a flexible team centric environment to achieve team goals besides achieving own monthly targets · Regularly travel nationally and internationally (up to 50%) to promote APIS sales activities by attending conferences & exhibitions and meeting with prospects & customers · Keep the APIS CRM database up-to-date and provide accurate sales forecasts The person We’re looking for a highly motivated, organised and enthusiastic individual who can work well in a team, but also get on with their tasks independently. The individual should have a strong interest in learning and executing bioinformatics sales to support overall business goals. The Sales Development Manager, Bioinformatics will have: · Master’s or Bachelor's degree in bioinformatics, molecular biology, or related field · Experienced sales professional including at least 2 years of proven sales success in the bioinformatic services field, with customers in pharma, biotech, and diagnostics companies · Strong understanding of genomic and proteomic bioinformatics applications in clinical and research settings · Demonstrate sales leadership skills and have a proven track record of meeting and exceeding ambitious sales targets · Excellent virtual relationship selling skills: listening, communication and presentation skills · Expert in business writing · Must be comfortable and flexible to working in Europe, North America, MEA, and APAC time zones · Possess an entrepreneurial ‘can do’ attitude · Self-motivated and professional Location Manchester UK head office, Belgrade RS office, or remote working.
