We are a dynamic start-up dedicated to revolutionising the food and drinks industry by offering a range of sustainable products. We partner with the largest contract caterers in the UK to supply food and drink products to over 30 client sites which includes a range of sustainable chocolate, coffee, tea, drinks and more. With a strong commitment to environmental responsibility and quality, we aim to expand our reach and impact significantly in the coming years.


We are now looking to scale up our food service business that has shown great traction so far. Some early successes have been: allocations delivered to 30 client sites, replacing all coffee at 600 UK bank branches and offering food gifting to 13,000 employees. You will be an advocate for some of the most exciting food and drink brands in the UK and have access to some of the largest corporate clients. We are looking for someone with a passion for purpose led challenger brands and excited at the prospect to roll up your sleeves in an entrepreneurial setting this could be the role for you. 


Job Description:

As the sales lead for contract catering clients, you will be instrumental in driving the growth and success of our sustainable food and drinks business. You will lead our sales efforts, developing strategies to expand our client base, increase revenue, and strengthen our market presence. Working closely with our partners and internal teams, you will champion our sustainable products, fostering strong relationships and driving sales performance to achieve ambitious targets. You will report directly to the Head of Sales and Marketing. 


Key Responsibilities:

Build a plan to take revenue with key partners to the next level. This will include:

  • Develop and Execute Sales Strategies: Create and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company objectives and revenue targets. 
  • Arrange sampling activity with suppliers: work with our 200+ suppliers to arrange sampling and pop-up activities with our key clients
  • Strengthen Partner Relationships: Cultivate strong partnerships with contract caterers and other key stakeholders. Collaborate closely with partners to maximise sales opportunities and address customer needs effectively.
  • Drive Product Adoption: Promote our sustainable food and drinks offerings to clients, highlighting their environmental benefits, quality, and value proposition. Develop persuasive sales pitches and presentations to win new business and expand existing accounts.
  • Increase product range: Work alongside our Supplier Manager to to provide feedback on client demand for new products we should be onboarding
  • Monitor Sales Performance: Track sales metrics and KPIs, analysing performance data to identify areas for improvement and optimization. Implement initiatives to drive sales efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Market Intelligence and Competitive Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments. Utilise market intelligence to inform sales strategies and identify opportunities for differentiation.
  • Drive the Social Supermarket brand: In collaboration with our Head of Marketing, build the Social Supermarket brand in the majority of the sites


Key Skills and Qualifications - Required:

  • Proven Track Record of Sales achievement; demonstration of at least four years of target attainment. 
  • Experience working as an Account Manager for a contract caterer or in a sales role for a food or drink product that has sold into food service contracts. 
  • A passion for sustainability and social impact
  • Strong understanding of sustainable food trends and consumer preferences.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence decision-makers.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute effective sales plans.
  • Desire to motivate and inspire a sales team.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in sales data analysis and performance tracking.
  • Adaptability and resilience to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving start-up environment.

  • Revenue Growth: Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets.
