Alexander Steele is recruiting on behalf of a Global Manufacturer Ingredients. This client is a global leader in their sector and operates across the full supply chain from the sourcing of raw materials to high quality end products.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Sales manager to join the team with responsibility for accounts across B2B & Food Service within the UK&I. You will work directly with end users as well as Distributor / Wholesalers within the sector.

Remote Working - 3-4 days per week in trade, expectation to be out overnight 1 x per 2 weeks roughly.

£40-55k + Company Car (Full expensed) + Bonus + Benefits

What your tasks are:

  • To achieve and exceed goals, objectives and budget.
  • Develop a clear understanding of the clients’ capabilities and communicate them clearly to new and existing customers.
  • Update and prepare planners, sales reports, project briefs and any other reports as needed in a timely manner.
  • Continuously improve knowledge of industry.
  • Manage all new accounts effectively, efficiently and profitably.
  • Maintain & grow sales margins by customer.
  • Negotiate sales and promotions with new and existing customers.
  • Work effectively with NPD & marketing departments in the development of new products for customers.
  • Prepare and implement the budget for your operating sector.
  • Attend exhibitions, trade shows and other industry events.
  • Manage & control overhead spend.
  • Work effectively with all departments to maintain excellent customer service.
  • To apply knowledge of manufacturing sector to the business to enable growth.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 Year’s Sales experience
  • Trained baker or knowledge of the UK Bakery sector.
  • Knowledge of UK Bakery Manufacturing industry.
  • Basic Food hygiene certificate.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office Products & remote IT equipment.
  • Ability to travel (Overnight as required).
  • Flexible & adaptable to change.
  • Team player, able to develop excellent internal and external relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written & orally.
