Airbus Helicopters is the world’s largest helicopter manufacturer and the Company’s site at Oxford Airport is Britain’s civil helicopter hub.

AHUK offers considerable experience in helicopter sales, bespoke completions, maintenance and spares support. Its in-house engineering capabilities include design, customisation, installation, flight-testing and certification, as well as technical support, maintenance, training and the supply of spares for civil and military applications.

AHUK is the MoD’s chosen provider of helicopters and maintenance for its Defence Helicopter Flying School (referred to as MFTS) located in RAF Shawbury (Shropshire) and RAF Valley (Anglesey).

Description/Overall purpose of the Job

As the overall Sales & Marketing Director for Airbus Helicopters UK (AHUK). The successful applicant will lead the Sales and Marketing team comprising; Sales & Marketing, Business Growth, Communications, Events and Helicopter delivery management – circa 15 full-time employees. 

The Sales Director Reports directly to AHUK’s Managing Director and is part of the Senior Leadership team of AHUK, working together to ensure the competitiveness and sustainability of the AHUK business. 

Main Responsibilities

  • Leading the Sales & Marketing Team
  • Ensuring that Airbus Helicopters is well represented within the UK and Ireland customer base, across all of our customer segments; Private & Business, National Resilience and Military
  • Defining, updating & executing the Sales & Marketing strategy & targets for the UK & Ireland region, in conjunction with the AHUK strategy and wider Airbus Helicopters and Airbus Group strategies
  • Placing customer satisfaction at the heart of everything we do when supporting our existing customers and working to attract new potential customers to our family
  • Representing the Voice of the Customer within the business, ensuring that Airbus Helicopters’ operations, products and services are aligned to the above

Knowledge and Skills

Essential

  • Experience in Sales &/or Marketing &/or Business Development
  • Experience of representing a business in front of varying customer types; High Net-Worth Individuals, business-to-business, civil & military government agencies
  • Experience within the UK/European aviation industry
  • Experience in a senior leadership role in a high technology industry
  • Languages: Fluent In English but other languages such as French &/or German are an advantage

Desirable

  • Working Knowledge of one or more of our segments: Private & Business, National Resilience or Military 
  • Working Knowledge of Airbus Helicopters and our products

Education, Qualifications or Training

Essential

  • Good secondary education
  • IT literacy: Must be capable of efficiently using Google Applications - GMail, GMeet, Google Sheets etc and also MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook and CRM type tools.

Desirable

  • University/degree qualification – Sales, Marketing or Business related
  • Must be open to training with any new IT tool necessary in this function

  • It is essential to have the ability to relate readily to potential customers and to be highly persuasive in advocating the advantages of Airbus Helicopters products
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, and an excellent communicator at all levels
  • Highly presentable at all times, and ability to maintain professional
  • Flexibility to react positively to customer requirements efficiently

Additional Requirements

  • Due to the nature of this position you will require DBS Security Clearance and be eligible for SC clearance
  • Applicants must meet any/all requirements of Export Compliance Regulations
  • Position based at Oxford Airport, UK
  • Position requires occasional travel
