With a production and manufacturing facility in Bromborough, Wirral, an engineering office based in Knaphill, Surrey, and a facility in Aberdeen, Deepsea Technologies UK provides both diver-less and diver assisted engineered solutions for the energy sector.

The company has over 30 years of experience in the design and delivery of subsea production equipment, with a well proven record of delivering production and controls packages. This includes well established products such and Taper-LokTM flanges, RetlockTM Diverless connection systems, MQC stab-plates, Bend Stiffener Connectors, ROV tooling and much more.

The businesses client base spans the world, with approximately half of its revenue coming from overseas contracts. The Deepsea Technologies Group holds a global presence, with offices and manufacturing capabilities in India, Brazil and USA. The Sales and Technical Manager will lead a team which includes a Sales Manager and an Internal Sales and Marketing Team. They will be responsible for the development of new revenue into a growing business with an increasing global presence with growing capabilities. An ideal candidate will have worked at an operator or tier 1 OEM level and will have an in-depth knowledge of subsea production and controls distribution equipment. This role will ideally be based in Aberdeen however can be performed remotely within the UK.

Key Responsibilities

New Business Development & Account Management

  • Set market direction within given region and drive business growth
  • Integrate group product offering and drive the sale of packaged solutions for subsea production systems
  • Enhance existing relationships and develop new ones, securing key relationships within client organisations
  • Manage relationships with existing agents, partners and alliances, building new ones and driving for results from the sales/agency network
  • Formulate and deliver against the sales plan in order to meet financial targets
  • Plan client approaches and pitches to meet goals and objectives
  • Work with global product line managers to identify technology trends for future opportunities to build the profile of the company
  • Work with the wider sales and marketing team to develop and deliver proposals in a timely manner whilst ensuring client needs are fully understood, solutions are offered and expectations can be met
  • Attend and participate in exhibitions and conferences
  • Monitor trends in clients target markets and competitors activity
  • Drive continuous improvement to maintain competitiveness

Team Reporting Duties

  • Lead the internal and external sales departments
  • Responsible for mentoring, developing sales/marketing team and conduct annual appraisals
  • Establish a focused sales plan with objectives and measures
  • Develop and maintain a 5-year sales pipeline for strategically targeted projects
  • Work with the internal sales team to track the status of all quotations and regularly feedback to the Managing Director
  • Upload visit reports to a company CRM on a weekly basis noting client visits or meetings, calendar activity, other tasks and sales pipeline
  • Provide monthly sales forecast for upcoming sales revenue within the region of responsibility
  • Share regional weekly highlight reports to the Managing Director
  • Provide a quarterly sales update to all members of the UK business

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate should be degree qualified in an engineering or business-related field with at least 10 years systems engineering experience and extensive knowledge of specifications and the delivery of subsea production systems and controls distribution equipment.

An understanding of offshore oil and gas contracting, subsea infrastructure and assembly and testing processes will be essential. Candidates should also have proven experience in proposal development, compiling pricing and bid strategies and delivering comprehensive, technical presentations. Relationship building and the ability to leverage existing contacts, develop new ones and build a pipeline of new business opportunities is fundamental to the success of this role.
