Position Summary

Take a key role in a new Long Term Stability Study (LTSS) team supporting analytical GMP activities focused on stability testing of late-stage assets enabling registrational filings.

The position is within Analytical Strategy and Operations - Analytical Regulated Testing department.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deputise team leader in technical and planning activities.
  • Co-ordinate sample projections and help schedule weekly workload for the team.
  • Work with the team lead to ensure qualification of analytical methods needed to support new LTSS projects either via method transfer or validation approaches.
  • To be present in the laboratory to ensure safety and housekeeping standards are met, to perform laboratory testing and to provide training and familiarisation guidance to junior team members.
  • Act as a technical point of contact to troubleshoot routine analytical challenges.
  • Deputise and support the team leader in presenting updates on LTSS activities to key stakeholders.
  • Perform notebook review and data approval.
  • Manage and lead laboratory Investigations, deviations and CAPAs.
  • Perform data trending to enable the team to identify and evaluate out of trend results.
  • To have or to develop a depth of understanding in key software applications; Empower, Electronic notebook, PD/SMLIMS to support the team in day-to-day operational activities.
  • Drive audit readiness for the team. Serve as a key contact during audits.
  • Apply a continuous improvement mindset to drive improvements to relevant procedures, laboratory processes and software interfaces
  • Available to supervise flexible working shifts accommodating testing across an expanded working day (For example, earlier or later shifts within the 7am - 7pm range Monday to Friday)


Qualifications & Experience

  • A bachelor’s level degree qualification in chemistry or in a related discipline.
  • Extensive, demonstrable laboratory experience with hands on knowledge of HPLC.
  • A good understanding of cGMP compliance as applied in a regulated laboratory setting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of validation and/or transfer of chromatographic separation methods.
  • Knowledge of Dissolution testing and Karl Fischer water analysis. Hands on practical experience an advantage.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience of people management advantageous.
