XTX Markets is an algorithmic trading firm that actively trades tens of thousands of instruments on over eighty venues with a daily volume of almost three hundred billion USD. The Role
The Information Security team at XTX Markets is accountable for all aspects of the firm’s physical and IT security; from obtaining and transforming events and signals into actionable intelligence to helping teams design and implement authentication, authorisation, and other security tools that underpin the XTX environment.
The team also assess third party security, as well as works diligently to keep XTX in compliance with a range of world-wide regulatory information security requirements.
Responsibilities
At XTX, security engineers are engaged in requirements gathering, architecting, prototyping, and developing both internal tools and broader infrastructure in conjunction with partner teams around XTX.
The successful candidate will work across a broad range of security roles and projects, including compliance related tasks as well as the analysis of third-party software and services.
Essential Attributes
- Approximately ten years’ experience in Information Security.
- A solid grounding in academic computer science with a broad and deep exposure to system level programming.
- A successful record of architecting, developing, and deploying large scale security solutions, especially around authentication.
- Proficiency in at least one statically typed language; development at XTX is primarily in Golang, though previous experience in Go is not a pre-requisite. Scripting is mainly in Python.
- Deep familiarity with UNIX and Windows authentication systems with system-level knowledge of other areas a plus
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to write clearly and succinctly.
- Rapid learner with strong attention to detail.
- Able to work autonomously and prioritise as required.
- Willing to admit mistakes and seek feedback to improve performance.
Desirable Attributes
- Kerberos experience, both on UNIX and Windows, with an emphasis on interoperability issues and Kerberos issues in a multi-realm environment.
- Cryptography experience, including the analysis of the properties of cryptographic systems.
- Protocol design.
- Some OS development experience either Kernel or Userland.
