A highly reputable Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Farnborough is seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teacher of English to join their Secondary phase and permanent staff list from September 2024. Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons tailored to the needs of SEN students in the Secondary phase.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing individualized support and interventions to ensure academic and personal development.
- Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with other professionals, parents, and students.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment that fosters learning and promotes student well-being.
- Work closely with colleagues, therapists, and external agencies to support the holistic development of students.
- Contribute to the school’s extracurricular activities and initiatives, enhancing the overall educational experience for students.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant teaching qualification.
- Proven experience teaching English, preferably within an SEN setting.
- Strong understanding of SEN teaching strategies, and familiarity with the SEN Code of Practice.
- Excellent classroom management skills, with the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for inclusive education.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Dedication to maintaining the high standards and ethos of the school.
Desirable Attributes:
- Additional qualifications or training in SEN education.
- Experience in using assistive technology and innovative teaching resources to support SEN learners.
- Involvement in extracurricular activities and a willingness to contribute to the wider school community.
- A passion for literature and language, with the ability to inspire and engage students.
