As a Senior Account Director, in our HiveClient Servicesteam, you will drive the success of your accounts by leading agency teams to deliver excellence for your clients/their brands in an efficient, timely and profitable way. You will build sustainable and lasting client relationships, partnering with them to understand their needs, providing proactive, valued strategic direction and counsel, and through driving new business opportunities.

What you'll do:

Team/People Development

  • Work with your BUD/Director/MD, identifying recruitment needs and taking the lead in reviewing CVs and conducting first round interviews at AE/AM level
  • Empowers and provides guidance to the team in order to direct campaigns, and where relevant, entire areas of accounts
  • Supervises the team and direct reports’ skills to help ensure clear and concise business correspondence
  • Takes part in the development, training, and motivation of team
  • Proactively identifies training needs of the team, and shares these with the management team
  • Supports the management team in initiating and running relevant training sessions, for account handling, and across the agency

Leadership

  • Takes a leadership role with agency brand team by supervising the development, execution, and production of all tactical programs from start to finish
  • Supervises the team and advises on decisions, challenges, and issues
  • Works between departments, ensuring culture is maintained, and implementation is assured
  • Helps to monitor workflow and alerts BUD/Director/MD of any short or long term needs to ensure smooth workflow
  • Briefs and supervises creative development, is capable of assessment and presentation across all channels
  • Collaborates and utilises agency resources to ensure optimum product is developed
  • Champions organic growth, taking responsibility for client development plans, identifying new business opportunities, and delivering successful proposals
  • Can confidently lead an RFI/RFP and demonstrates the ability to guide a pitch team to deliver against a new business opportunity
  • Understands the multidisciplinary approach to client service, and can instil this mindset in the teams around them

Client Management

  • Strives to develop breadth and depth in client company relationships
  • Is able to consistently add value to the client relationship strategically, tactically, and in terms of general management
  • Takes ownership of problems and proactively identifies solutions
  • Delivers long term valued brand relationships to the client and the agency
  • Works with the whole brand team to develop and deliver against strategies which suit the nature, requirements, and opportunities of each account

Strategic Direction

  • Understands the client dynamics, strategies, objectives, and drivers
  • Works closely with the BUD/Director/MD and strategy team to provide strategic counsel to all clients, based on strong understanding of their business
  • Develops and delivers strategic proposals and presentations; provides constructive evaluation and offers appropriate direction and guidance to client’s strategic documents, such as brand plans
  • Spots new opportunities/unmet needs within the existing business and supports the identification of brand-new business

Team Management/Communication

  • Takes a leadership role on the implementation of a campaign, suite of materials or specific area of an account
  • Utilises strategic thinking skills to enhance deliverables and to spot and convert opportunities
  • Coaches the team to understand the importance of clear financial management with the client, invoicing, reconciling, and revising budgets based on the scope of the workstreams
  • Guides team on the legislative and regulatory processes
  • Seeks to help improve agency processes to be more efficient

Financial/Commercial

  • Works with the BUD/Director/MD to build a pipeline of future projects within each brand to ensure revenue target is achieved or exceeded
  • Produces account wide forecasts
  • Supports the delivery of revenue within an acceptable profit margin in line with forecasts
  • Supports the delivery of annual new business and organic growth targets specific to their account
  • Negotiates competitive and beneficial budgets with clients and procurement teams

About you

  • Extensive experience in a client management role within a healthcare communications agency setting
  • Experience driving and leading multidisciplinary teams
  • Articulate and well accustomed to a client-facing role
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical sector regulations and guidelines
  • Clear communicator, honest and fair with colleagues
