Our book has been growing steadily over the last few years and now it has hundreds of subscribers from 20+ different industries. Whilst we get a lot out of our book, we think there are millions (yes, millions) of £s worth of untapped value.

We’re on a mission to get top tier retention rates and we need someone (you, we hope?) to come and make this a reality. As a Senior Account Manager, you’d bring your own fresh ideas to help dig out this value, and help build out the team by managing & mentoring some of our fantastic junior team (check out our Glassdoor to see just how great it is!).

If this sounds up your street, then read on!

The role

We’re a market-leading tech company that provides data on the fastest-growing companies in the UK (think Monzo and Babylon!). Our Account Management team helps our subscribers to get value from our platform and works with our Data & Product teams to give them the best possible customer experience.

Right now, we’re growing rapidly and our client base is growing just as fast. As a result, we have some HUGE commercial opportunities just sitting in the book. We need someone who can help us uncover this value by building great relationships with some of our most exciting clients (think government departments, local governments and the biggest accountancy firms & banks).

If you’re looking for variety, look no further. We work with dozens of different industries, all with a unique use case, so you’ll become an expert on the industries and take a highly personalised, intelligent approach to each subscriber. This role is perfect for anyone seeking smart, people-driven, and impactful work as well as immeasurable personal growth and development.

More specifically, your role will include:

  • Building relationships & trust: working closely and collaboratively with subscribers of all personality-types, from a broad range of industries, to understand their business needs and ensure they get maximum value from our platform
  • Hitting Targets: working towards (and hopefully exceeding) commission-based renewal & client retention targets, and significantly growing your book through cross-selling & up-selling
  • Training & mentoring: supporting junior team members in a line management capacity to help them grow, develop their skills & exceed targets
  • Contributing to strategy : helping with long term team & business strategy: constantly working to improve our processes & communicating user feedback to drive our product forward

Our offer

We invest a lot in keeping our people happy and healthy! So as well as a competitive salary and a super lovely team, you'll also get:

  • Training: Structured training & regular personal development opportunities
  • Wellbeing: Coaching, counselling, and virtual yoga/mindfulness sessions
  • Socials: Drinks every Friday, office parties, company away days, and regular team events
  • Options: Substantial options scheme, so you can share in the growth you help create
  • Talks: Interesting speakers in the office
  • Snacks: Unlimited supply of fruit, nuts, tea, and coffee
  • Books: You can order any relevant books you like or come along to our book club evening
  • Travel loans: Rail season ticket loan and cycle to work scheme
  • Hybrid working : Flexible office & remote working – see below for more details!
About you

We welcome a broad array of backgrounds and personalities so there’s no one size fits all with this!

As a minimum, you should have:

  • 3-4 years’ experience managing your own portfolio/book of clients (in Account Management or similar capacity)
  • Proven experience hitting/exceeding commercial targets
  • Experience (or strong interest!) in line management

If you have more experience than this, you might be better suited to our Lead Account Manager role – check this out here.

You will also ideally be:

  • Proactive/ambitious : you love suggesting ways to do things better & are driven by your targets and your own personal growth!
  • A natural people-person : a great listener, emotionally intelligent, and great at getting to know all different personalities.
  • Resilient : able to bounce back after a set-back and proactively learn from your mistakes
About us

We are the market leader for tracking the most exciting companies in the UK. Through a combination of people power and machine learning, our data platform helps over 20 different industries invest in, understand, and partner with start-ups and scale-ups all over the country.

Other than the product, our real key to our success is our wonderful culture. Based in the heart of vibrant Brixton, we’re a supportive, close-knit group with a range of interests and quirks - from bakers, to artists, to beer-brewers to gamers. To drive our company forward, we take responsibility for our work & embrace our mistakes, continually challenge ourselves & each other to do better, and be proactive & energetic in everything we do!

Like most companies, we’ve been umm-ing and ahh-ing about this for months, trying to work out what the perfect balance between in-office and remote working should look like for us. And we’ll be totally upfront with you – it’s really hard! We don’t yet know what exactly our policy on this should look like long term. But we’re keen to share our current thinking and some of the things that (we think) we know for sure. We’d also love to chat to you more about this in the course of the interview process so please do ask us questions!

And what are we doing at the moment?

  • We’re currently running a tria l where we’re asking everyone to spend at least 60% of each month in an office (London or Nottingham)
  • We’ll be reviewing how this is going in November/December and again at the end of the trial – we'll take into account how everyone in the company is finding it, how managers think it's going, as well as considering it from the "company perspective"

Ticking all the boxes?
