Main Purpose of the Job
To support the Finance Controller with general ledger maintenance and month end processing.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsibility for financial ledger and accounts according to UK GAAP: structure, integrity, balance sheet reconciliations, reports (including reports & templates development)
- Responsible for supporting the 3 UK sites; Compton, Leicester and Billingham
- All non-AR/AP ledger postings: all bank transactions, fixed assets, loans, grants, payroll, accruals & prepayments, stock movements (limited – not full responsibility for stock), expenses, dividends, intercompany adjustments
- Cash & Company credit card expenses processing & ledger input
- Month End preparation
- VAT returns preparation & submission
- P11D preparation/submission to HMRC for ‘Benefits in Kind’ employer NI and employee NI/tax liabilities
- Loans/HP schedules
- Grants schedules & de Minimis (EU fair competition legislation) records
- Fixed Assets Register & depreciation
- Liaise with 3P payroll service; submit payroll instructions & expense reclaims; check payroll submissions
- Suppliers/Customers to cover for accounts payable & receivable
Candidate Requirements
- Extensive experience of all accounting functions
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA) is preferred - but not essential
- Experience in a year end audit.
- Experience with month end closing to strict deadline.
- Experience in Group VAT Submission.
- Worked with SAP FI/CO
- A keen eye for detail and desire to probe further into data
- Advanced Excel & Microsoft Office skills, experience of accounting systems and writing reports.
- Good organisational experience with the ability to prioritise conflicting workloads and ability to work to deadlines.
- Managed an AP/AR function would be desirable
This role would be a hybrid position, working part of the week from our site in Compton, Berkshire. You will need your own transport to be able to get to our site.
