Role: Senior Financial Accountant

Salary £60,000-70,000
Full Time Permanent – Hybrid 3 days WFH

VisionFR is recruiting a Senior Financial Accountant to support the financial operations of an international creative advertising agency. This role will report directly to FD. The Senior Accountant will be supporting the financial reporting, audits, cash management, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations for the UK entity. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in financial management, a strong understanding of the advertising industry, very strong accounting technical skills and the ability to operate in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
The Role of the Senior Financial Accountant
Nominal Ledger Management
- Support the management of the nominal ledger, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including bank accounts, accounts receivable, and accounts payable
- Reconcile payroll and prepare related journal entries
- Prepare journal entries, ensuring proper classification and documentation of transactions
- Support month-end closing process ensuring adherence to internal controls and company timelines
Financial Reporting and Analysis
- Prepare monthly financial reports based on agency-specific requirements.
- Analyse financial data and trends to identify variances, anomalies and prepare explanations of variances
- Prepare Ad hoc reports as needed by management
Internal Controls & Audit
- Monitor internal controls and ensure compliance.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors providing necessary documentation and support
Treasury and Cash Management
- Oversee cash flow forecasting.
- Analyse agency cash flow and propose actions to increase liquidity
- Monitor foreign exchange risk and suggest strategies as needed
Skills and Requirements of a Senior Financial Accountant
- Qualified Accountant – ACA / ACCA /CIMA
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles including IFRS 15
- Understanding of SOX requirements and experience of operating in SOX compliant organisation
- Strong Excel skills
- Proficiency in financial software and systems (e.g., ERP, accounting software), Maconomy experience is an advantage.
- Excellent analytical, strategic, and communication skills
