Summary of Position
- As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in building and scaling the backend services for our mobile app and web engine
- We’re looking for someone who is ambitious, proactive, and ready to tackle challenges head-on
Role Highlights
- Architect, build, and maintain server-side systems and supporting tools
- Manage and scale databases
- Analyze and troubleshoot software to fix issues or make improvements
- Prototyping to evaluate ideas and ensure technical feasibility of feature designs
- Deliver quality code that is self-tested and optimized for performance and scalability
- Collaborate with team members on product design and realizing the company’s vision
- Mentor other engineers
- Code reviews
Requirements
- 7+ years of backend engineering experience
- Experience with building and scaling B2C platform
- Experience with relational databases (MySQL) and non-relational databases (Redis)
- Experience on AWS
- Experience with Kubernetes
- Cloud deployment experience
- Knowledge of basic security best practices in a cloud environment
- Experience developing asynchronous code
- Express or similar REST API frameworks
- Extensive Node.js experience
- Clean, modern JavaScript
- Proficient with TypeScript
- Ability to work with remote instances: SSH, remote debugging, logs
- Strong git skills
- Ability to work in fully remote environment
- Strong communication skills
Pluses
- Experience or a strong interest in AI (machine learning)
- Experience or an interest in Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- Game development experience
