Reports to Enterprise Reporting Technical Business Analyst Manager

With continued growth across the Aztec Group, our Information Technology teams are expanding to support current and future business needs. We are after experts in the field to help us deliver high-quality, seamless and uninterrupted IT experiences for our employees and clients, across our multiple European jurisdictions.

This role will centre on assisting the provision of reporting services from our core IT applications including Reporting technologies (FrontReport, FrontExcel, etc), providing technical expertise in evaluating requirements, analysing data and creating technical design documents. Under the direction of an experienced IT Applications Manager, with support and continuing professional development, the ideal candidate will become a key part of the Group’s IT Applications team.

For this team, remote/flexible working is the norm, with occasional trips to the office as and when required.

Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct reviews of scoping documents to ensure completeness and validation of requirements/ feasibility
  • Contribute to scoping documents creation, including adding technical details
  • Ensure scoping documents are updated on an ongoing basis, including the update of the documents themselves when amendments are actioned &/or are updated by the developer
  • Assist with issue reviews and tracing, including liaising with users to validate results and/or communicate remediation plan
  • Liaise with key stakeholders on technical points arising from user queries, including assisting developers
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of departmental process documentation, including continual improvements
  • Assist with regression testing, including supporting the Operational Team in such activities and Unit and SIT where appropriate
  • Contribute to the Continual Improvement Register (CIR) for reports, including such activities as raising recommendations (based on analysis conducted), assessing feasibility of requests, etc
  • Act as proxy to reporting manager in the CIR calls, calls, including users, contractors and teams calls

Skills, knowledge and expertise:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a business / data analyst gained within a business environment
  • Good knowledge of MS Excel, including macros
  • Ability to compile technical documentation, including requirements elicitation, specification documentation and testing
  • Strong problem-solving skills, methodical approach and adherence to change management practices
  • Good interpersonal skills are required to develop close working relationships with colleagues, clients, and third-party suppliers.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of report writing tools such as MS Excel, PowerBI, SAS, FrontReports, SSRS
  • Knowledge of SQL Server, TSQL and database design
  • Financial Services experience would be an advantage
  • Exposure to (fund) accounting principles would be an advantage

  • The successful candidate may be required to travel to our other offices and build relations with colleagues and teams in other Group jurisdictions
