Senior Buyer We are looking for a Senior Buyer who will be accountable for researching, selecting, and managing the product assortment that aligns with the brand’s strategic goals in all routes to market. This role involves analysing market trends, and ensuring the product offerings meet customer expectations and drive sales growth. Key accountabilities Product Selection and Development: Identify and select handbags and accessories for multiple channels that reflect current trends and align with the brand’s aesthetic and target market. Collaborate with design and product development teams to bring to market collections that meet the brands strategy and support growth. Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research and trend analysis to understand customer needs, preferences, and emerging trends. Monitor competitor activities and benchmark against industry leaders to maintain a competitive edge. Sales and Financial Performance: Analyze sales performance data to inform buying decisions and strategies. Work with finance to manage budgets, forecast demand, and ensure profitability targets are met. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with marketing and merchandising teams to create compelling product stories and promotional campaigns. Coordinate with retail and e-commerce teams to ensure products are effectively displayed and marketed. Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop Assistant buyer, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment. Stay updated on industry developments and continuously seek opportunities for professional growth and development. Our ideal candidate: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in buying or merchandising within the fashion accessories sector. Proven track record of successful product selection, supplier negotiation, and inventory management. Skills and Competencies: Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis and forecasting. Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills. In-depth knowledge of fashion trends, consumer behaviour, and the competitive landscape. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Proficient in relevant software and tools (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, ERP systems). Strong leadership and team management capabilities. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Sales and profitability growth of the accessory category. Inventory turnover rates and stock management efficiency. Success of new product launches and exclusives. Team development and performance improvement. This role is Hybrid between our Central London office (3 days per week) and home based (2 days per week). There may be a requirement for occasional travel to trade shows, supplier meetings, and other industry events.
