Buyer
An established, successful manufacturer is recruiting an experienced Buyer to work from their Aston headquarters. You will join the small purchasing team and take responsibility for a selection of suppliers to build strong supplier relationships and negotiate favourable terms. You will take ownership of the purchasing of a range of parts and materials to ensure that production targets are met.
As the Senior Buyer, you will support the Purchasing Manager:
- Work with the existing supply base across the UK to ensure the best possible material supply.
- Build very strong relationships and, where possible, deliver more favourable commercial terms.
- Look at a range of new suppliers to increase the supply base.
- Work closely with shop floor functions to enable a smooth flow of materials and production.
- Overall, work to improve the purchasing function and ensure it is best in class to enable production targets to be met on time in full.
To be successful in the role of Buyer, you will have:
- Previous experience as a Buyer/Senior Buyer within a manufacturing business.
- Proven negotiation skills and an in-depth understanding of commercial terms.
- An understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Ideally, experience purchasing a range of materials and components.
- Experience working with a range of MRP/ERP systems.
The company offers a salary between £30,000 - £35,000 plus 25 days holiday (not including bank holidays), flexible working with some work from home, and the ability to embed yourself into a successful business and become an integral part of the team.
