About the Role
The Senior Buyer role at Skin Cupid is a critical position responsible for the strategic sourcing and procurement of innovative Asian skincare and beauty products across multiple categories. This role demands a seasoned professional capable of managing complex supplier relationships in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Buying Management: Develop and implement buying strategies that support Skin Cupid's business objectives and growth plans. Manage category performance through detailed range reviews and trade planning.
- Market Insights: Leverage internal and external insights to identify and capitalise on emerging trends and consumer preferences. Ensure Skin Cupid's product offerings are aligned with current and forecasted market demands to enhance competitiveness and market share in key territories.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers. Negotiate pricing and terms to ensure the highest quality and timely delivery of products.
- Cross-functional Team Collaboration: Ensure close collaboration with marketing, and operations teams to achieve maximum commercial efficiency.
- Financial and Performance Management: Support the setting of annual and monthly sales and margin targets. Prepare, manage, and deliver brand budgets. Establish clear strategies for improving margins sustainably across all divisions and territories.
- Inventory and Stock Management: Place purchase orders and forecasts whilst balancing key performance indicators, including stock availability, cover levels, and aged stock, ensuring strategic intake and optimisation of delivery investments.
- Promotional and Pricing Strategies: Develop and implement pricing and promotional strategies at the category and brand level.
- Compliance Management: Oversee compliance with all relevant regulations in UK, Europe and the US, including product registration and adherence to safety standards.
We are looking for:
Essential Qualifications:
- At least 5+ years of experience in cosmetics buying. Expertise and in-depth knowledge of Korean beauty products are strongly preferable.
- Proven track record in strategic buying and supplier relationship management.
- Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in numerical analysis, leveraging market insights and data to drive buying decisions.
- Excellent negotiation skills and experience in managing global supplier relationships.
- Proficiency in English with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organisational skills
- High attention to detail and business acumen.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Fluency in Korean is a bonus.
