Job Title: Senior Buyer - Manufacturing and Production Location: Walsall, West Midlands + Hybrid Working ArrangementsCompensation: Up to £45, (Dependent on experience) + benefits Role Type: Full time / PermanentRole ID: SF At Babcock we’re working to create a safe and secure world, together, and if you join us, you can play your part as a Senior Buyer at our Walsall site. The roleAs a Senior Buyer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will play a key part within the Procurement and Supply Chain team focused on a variety of direct and indirect activities. Day to day, you’ll be working within the procurement and supply chain team. You will also be assisting suppliers in continuous improvement initiatives and dealing with tenders. Preparing and issue Invitations to Tender or requests for quotations Working collaboratively with Commercial and Legal teams negotiating contract terms and conditions that motivate the required supplier performance Managing key suppliers, to provide dynamic supply solutions across the Babcock business Expediting requirements to ensure delivery to key project dates Managing the procurement work flow as required and buy materials/services in line with customer required by dates Essential experience of the Senior Buyer Experience within a manufacturing/ production environment (essential) Experience of low volume manufacturing/ direct sourcing You will have experience driving sourcing strategies An appropriate level of experience in procurement or acquisition of goods and services, as well as experience of leading and managing procurement projects and people. This is a full time role, working 37.5 hours per week at our Walsall site with an early finish on Fridays. You will be required to be onsite 3-4 days a week with 1-2 days working from home. Qualifications for the Senior Buyer Have relevant academic qualifications or evidence of continuous professional development, ideally at degree level and/or relevant engineering/supply chain/lean culture experience.
