Our Thames Gateway Division, is looking to recruit a Senior Buyer to join the Division’s Commercial department.The RoleReporting to the Commercial Director, the role of Senior Buyer supports with the day to day management of procurement costs for the division, compliance with group purchasing arrangements, collection of rebates and the setting and monitoring of materials budgets to deliver the business unit output in the most timely, efficient and cost effective manner possible.Principal accountabilities of the role include:Ensuring competitive procurement of materials and plant as dictated by individual project specificationsAdministering and assist with monitoring of Material Rebate claimsMonitoring supplier performancePreparing Contract Material BudgetMonitoring and reporting on Material Budget as contract progressesIssuing tender enquiries and analysing quotationsPreparing material take-off from contract drawingsPreparing material schedules on Excel for supplier and site useProduction of computer generated Purchase OrdersIssuing orders to enable waste management systems to be implemented on sitesCollating and submitting statistical analysis as requiredExperience, Qualifications and SkillsExperiencePreviously held Buying role with knowledge of take offs, schedules and budgets requiredQualifications and TrainingCurrent CSCS card or equivalentGCSE English and Mathematics grade A-C/4+ or equivalentSkills and AptitudeStrong communication and listening skillsExcellent attention to detailAbility to work on own as well as part of a teamIT literate, proficient in MS Word and Excel with the ability to adapt to new systemsAbility to work to deadlines under pressureAble to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders at all levelsCommitted to diversity and inclusionThe Role and Working ConditionsWilling to be flexible in respect to day to day duties and hours workedOffice based role, with travel within the Divisional areaAbility to travel to development sites as and when requiredPlease note this role is subject to a basic DBS and financial pre-employment checksIn return we can offer you:Competitive salaryCompetitive car allowanceOptional salary sacrifice car schemeCompetitive annual bonusContributory pension scheme25 days holiday, plus bank holidaysHoliday purchase scheme Access to discounts and benefits portalShareSave SchemeCycle to Work SchemeLife assuranceWe reserve the right to close this vacancy if a large volume of applications is received.
