If you’ve got a background in indirect procurement, have some experience of creating and running strategic initiatives to reduce cost and fancy a fresh challenge with an established brand leader who are making the switch to a commodity led procurement function, plus offer you the opportunity to learn from highly experienced procurement leaders, then this could be right up your street. What’s on offer? Base salary of £50,000 to £55,000BonusContributory Pension25 days holiday plus bank hols What will you be doing? You’ll be taking on responsibility for the strategic management of around £13m worth of indirect spend, covering all indirect categories including major Cap-Ex investments. You’ll create and implement category strategies that deliver cost savings without compromising on service or quality, working with suppliers both here in the UK and overseas. Core spend areas will cover transport, energy and cap-ex however all areas of indirect will be under your control. You’ll build great cross functional working relationships with your stakeholders to obtain buy in and recognition of the added value that procurement provide when operating in a category/commodity aligned approach. There will be a commitment to developing strong supplier relationships, which will mean some travel is required, mostly UK but potentially overseas as well – this is expected to be no more than once every 3-4 months. You’ll have the autonomy to develop your own ideas and make your own choices, but will still be supported by a cracking Procurement Director who will offer guidance and support when you need it. You’ll be working with highly experienced leaders who will help you to develop your procurement skills and knowledge and give you autonomy to truly flourish in your role. What do you need to bring to the party? To be successful in this role it’s expected that you’ll be able to demonstrate the majority of the following skills & experience: Proven experience in a procurement role with responsibility for indirect categories – if you’ve covered logistics/transport/energy/cap-ex these would be seen as highly advantageous but aren’t essential, so long as you can demonstrate service procurement experienceStrong track record in savings delivery and performance optimisationAble to build rapport and develop excellent working relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers alikeGood influencing skillsConfident communicator, including presentingWilling and able to travel nationally or internationally when neededHappy to be based on site 5 days a week
