For this role you must be fully flexible Monday to Sunday. You will be allocated shifts on a rotational basis. You must be able to work a combination of 8am-8pm, 8am-2pm and 2pm-8pm.  You will not be able to provide us with your availability and we cannot allocate you preferred shifts.  Please consider this carefully before applying .  The Home Castle Lodge is a residential care home located within walking distance from Antrim town centre. It provides high-quality care for up to 41 residents across two units. The staff and residents like to think of themselves as part of the community, reflecting the changing diversity of the Antrim community.  The Role - PERMANENT NIGHTSHIFT The Senior Care Assistant role in our Homes is part of dedicated team who are essential to the daily operations of the Home. In our Residential Homes and units, this is a leadership role, working closely with the care team to lead on shifts and manage medication. Senior Care Assistants provide high quality care and support to our residents in a warm and safe environment. Senior Care Assistants play a crucial role in the delivery of care, working with the care team, the role of a Senior Care Assistant is to provide leadership, guidance and hands-on assistance to ensure the residents receive personalised care that meets their individual needs and preferences. Our Senior Care Assistants also provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering meaningful relationships and promoting a sense of compassion, and advocacy for residents’ rights and preferences. About The Role Main Responsibilities Provide direct care and support to residents with activities of daily living, including personal care and mobility in accordance with individual care plans and resident preferences. Observes and monitors the wellbeing of residents ensuring that any unusual physical, mental or emotional occurrences are promptly referred to senior staff/the primary nurse and documented as appropriate. Monitors and allocates the work for care assistants. Develops and maintains a good professional relationship with residents, colleagues and visitors responding promptly and courteously to requests and enquiries.  Responsibility for the administration and management of medication, medication audits and storage in line with regulatory requirements. Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably required as designated by the Home Manager.
