Job Description

The Senior Carpenter and Designer is responsible for planning, designing, and implementing the custom scenic projects for our business. They liaise directly with T.E.MS AND P.Ms to understand the brief, whilst offering support and guidance based on their knowledge/skills. The Senior Carpenter and Designer is responsible for ensuring compliance on all carpenters workshop/scenery policies, maintaining daily workspace standards, and successful completion of all daily tasks. This position will, support adequate staffing levels related to business needs. The Senior Carpenter and Designer will report to the Scenery Manager. Key Job Responsibilities

Knowledge of CNC routing essential

Knowledge of Vector works and other Graphic packages.

Ability to read technical drawings.

Forklift license an advantage (training provided if required).

Any other ad hoc duties assigned by the Scenery Manager Scenic Delivery;

Drive Results by ensuring daily tasks are completed on time.

Design and create scenic items according to client specification.

Monitor inventory levels to maximise availability and utilisation for high demand products.

Ensures high-accuracy physical inventory results and quality control and repair standards.

Maintaining all aspects of the scenic construction workshop, ensuring all workshop equipment, tools and machinery are in a good, safe and efficient working condition.

Quoting for Custom jobs and working with the Scenery Manger ensuring that purchase orders and invoices are raised accordingly.

Assist with planning the booking for the workshop set builders and coverers.

Keeping abreast of the advances in technologies and techniques in the industry. Work Environment;

Work is performed at in a warehouse and office environment. Team members must adhere to appearance guidelines as defined by Encore. When in the Warehouse, work will be completed in an environment with exposure to outdoor temperatures and to dirt, sand and/or dust. The working conditions will vary between moderately quiet to noisy volumes. Team members may use high-end audio visual equipment and electrical components. Working times may include irregular hours and on-call status including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
