Job Description:
We are looking to appoint a Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist in Gender Healthcare to join the West of England Gender Identity Clinic based at The Laurels in Exeter. This is a new substantive post following substantial investment in the clinic and will form part of a new Clinical Nurse Specialist Team.
Our multi-disciplinary team works with people who have a wide variety of needs related to their gender identity.

We are looking for a team player who enjoys working in a multi-disciplinary setting with highly experienced and skilled staff. Person Specification
Knowledge and skills
- Knowledge of the interface of psychological and physical aspects of healthcare.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Good skills in assessment intervention and evaluation of patients' nursing care.
- Clinical supervision skills.
- Knowledge of the Trust's Non-Medical prescribing policy and local procedure.
- Knowledge of the legal, social, and societal aspects of gender diversity.
Experience
- Experience of individual patient case management responsibility.
- Substantial experience of MDT working.
- Demonstrates satisfactory clinical expertise for the banding.
- Line management of staff.
- Experience of clinical working with transgender and non-binary patients.
Qualifications
- Non-Medical Prescriber.
- Maintains current registration with NMC.
- Willingness to undertake new clinical practices, education and training that will enhance service delivery.
- Relevant Masters degree or working towards.
- Demonstrate continued professional development to maintain professional registration.
- Training in transgender healthcare.
