Job Description

We're recruiting for a Senior Communications Executive to work as part of the People Team in either of our offices in Haywards Heath, West Sussex or Salford Quays, Manchester.

You’ll be responsible for both the external communication activity and elements of the internal communications for First Central Group. You'll have proven experience in managing social media and you’ll be creating captivating content for a variety of channels that engages current and prospective colleagues whilst supporting departmental objectives. You'll need to be confident in copywriting, design, and analytics - this role requires imagination, attention to detail, and a strategic mindset.

Job responsibilities:

  • You'll be responsible for managing Group social media platforms for the organization.
  • You'll write, edit and proof copy across all channels, ensuring that it’s appropriate for the channel and in line with our brand and tone of voice.
  • You'll create visual content including but not limited to photography, graphics, video, etc that support messaging on platforms
  • You'll ensure posts are scheduled, you'll monitor engagement, engaging with interactions, re-posting, etc.
  • We'll need you to create brand awareness to support First Central’s goal to become an employer of choice.
  • You'll own the careers website including ensuring copy is updated, posting news stories and working with the in-house graphic designer to ensure that the style is in line with employer brand.
  • You'll support with PR activity including but not limited to community partnerships, company awards, etc.
  • You'll work with senior leaders in the business to develop thought leadership content.
  • You'll manage the internal newsletter to ensure cohesion between internal and external communications.
  • You'll support with any other reasonable internal communications and engagement plans inline with the overarching strategy.
  • You'll work with the wider team to curate and develop communications that are relevant to external audiences.
  • You'll track and reflect on analytics to pivot strategy in line with shifting engagement.
  • Being a brand ambassador, you'll work with the guidelines and champion the values around it.
  • You'll build effective relationships with senior stakeholders, external suppliers/partners, working groups and committees to help drive engagement, influence, educate and inspire colleagues.
  • You'll stay up to date with the latest social media advertising efforts and goals.
  • You'll adapt and evolve processes that reflect the culture, protect the company in terms of insurance/health and safety/PR and report back on all ROI.
  • You'll work with business and industry data to inform plans.
  • You'll own merchandise locally; ordering, designing and implementing.
  • You'll need to track success of all activity by documenting results, reviewing data, evaluating effectiveness and engagement, and highlighting opportunities to increase impact.
  • You'll also manage local budgets.

Job-specific competencies

  • Ideally you'll be educated to degree level, with qualifications in English, business or communications are preferable.
  • You'll have strong knowledge and a solid background in a communications role, notably with social media (including paid social media advertising/campaigns) and PR experience.
  • You'll have an in-depth understanding of various social media platforms and their algorithm changes.
  • You'll have a good understanding of Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Having experience in branding or an understanding of employer brand/EVP would also be preferred.

Skills & Qualifications

  • You'll need to have excellent creative written and spoken skills and feel confident writing for a variety of audiences.
  • You'll have first-class drafting, proof-reading and editing skills, and be able to write and produce compelling and engaging content under pressure and at short notice, while maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • You'll have the ability to design and edit imagery and video.
  • You'll be highly organized and proactive - able to juggle and prioritize a busy workload.
  • You'll be professional and calm under pressure.
  • You'll have solid experience of coordinating projects.
  • You'll need to have strong analytical skills including Google Analytics.
  • You'll be a creative thinker and problem solver.
