Is this the role for you? 

The Senior Communications Manager plays a vital role in telling the story of these developments to press and industry stakeholders. The successful candidate will be a proactive force in shaping the narrative around Paramount’s dynamic portfolio across the television landscape and beyond. If you can identify and develop stories about Paramount’s content, brands, streaming services and other commercial ventures, we want to hear from you.

What will you be doing? 

Devise and implement corporate communications strategy for: 

Channel 5’s strategic direction and content pipeline, across the free-to-air channel and BVOD service, My5 

Paramount UK’s commercial and editorial ambitions for its streaming services – Paramount+ My5 and Pluto TV. 

Paramount UK’s Pay TV brands, including MTV and Comedy Central and our online channel, BET UK. 

Paramount’s international studios 

Paramount UK’s wider lines of business including Consumer Products, D,E&I and marketing, as required. 

Establish relationships with relevant brand teams, brand PR teams and international corporate communications colleagues. 

Identify external, profile-raising opportunities for senior executives based in the UK, including 10 Commissioning Editors for Channel 5. Support their preparation ahead of speaking events and interviews.

Draft corporate communication materials, including press releases, briefs, Q&As and campaign strategies, to a high standard. 

Develop and pitch news stories, features and comment ideas to amplify the business’ activities. 

Manage media relations for Paramount in the UK across all relevant trade and B2B media. 

Manage day-to-day reputational issues arising from content and business activities, while supporting, and escalating as appropriate 

Oversee the work of the Communications Exec around departmental admin processes, including media monitoring, conference trackers, speaking opportunities and coverage round ups. 

Exercise a supportive influence on team members at all levels. 

Deputise for the Director of Communications as needed 

What are we looking for? 

Proven communications expertise in the television sector or relevant experience in a related field.

A dynamic, driven self-starter, capable of influencing at all levels. 

Excellent written and interpersonal communications skills. 

Experience of managing issues management relating to creative content. 

An understanding of and affinity with Paramount UK’s brands. 

Knowledge of issues impacting the media/entertainment and broadcast industry. 

Good contacts with relevant trade and B2B media. 

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain attention to detail. 

Knowledge of social media and emerging digital trends. 

Can-do attitude, enthusiasm and flexibility.
