Aker Solutions are looking for a Senior Construction Engineer to join our team based in our Aberdeen (AIBP) office with some travel to offshore / sites.

What will you be doing?

  • To carry out professional engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and completion activities in a competent and efficient manner whilst ensuring that the technical and safety integrity of engineering being performed is maintained at all times.
  • Ensure project deliverables are generated using Aker Solutions systems and tools.
  • Review, check the work of others and be responsible for their performance within their discipline / function.
  • Compilation of weekly reports on progress via project tools where applicable.
  • Execute the workscopes assigned, safely, on time, in budget and ensure the technical integrity of the installation from the construction perspective.
  • Accountable for the effective administration and implementation of Management of Change.
  • Preparation of cost and time/man-hour estimates via Aker Solutions Systems where applicable.


We think you should have:

  • HNC/HND /City and Guilds level or University civil engineering degree or relevant education with 5 to 7 years experience in front end studies, FEED and/or EPCI projects from energy sector.
  • Strong commitment to HSE and safety.
  • Experience in participation in HAZOP/HAZID reviews
  • Solution oriented with good communication and collaboration skills
  • Knowledge of Legislation applicable to construction (DCR, LOLER etc.)
  • Strong work ethics and a proactive attitude
  • The ability to train and mentor discipline engineers
  • A commercial mindset, good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • The ability to see solutions together with meeting customer expectations and requirements
  • The competency to be accurate, flexible and organized
  • Willing to work in a hybrid structure with regular visits to the primary office as well as offshore / site visits
