We support a range of Energy, Defence, Government, Health, and Transport contracts in the UK.   The Role Decision Analysis Services Limited is hiring a Senior Consultant in our expanding Systems Consulting. Our Analytics + Foresight Hub consultants support a range of clients across the Energy, Defence and Government industry sectors. As a Senior Data Science Consultant at DAS, you will: Utilise advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to analyse large datasets, extract insights, and build predictive models. This could include data pre-processing, feature engineering, model construction, and evaluation. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members. Stay up to date with the latest developments in data science and technology and help drive innovation within the organisation. Communicate complex findings and insights to stakeholders through compelling data visualisations and reports. This could involve using tools like Power BI or custom-built dashboards. Demonstrate exceptional consulting skills and the ability to build strong working relationships both with our clients, and the wider team at DAS. Requirements About You You possess expertise as a Data Science professional and have good working knowledge of data science project lifecycles. You are comfortable working collaboratively with a team of colleagues and will likely have previously worked within defence, energy, or government sectors. You have the following required skills: Degree or Masters in a quantitative discipline (for example statistics, economics, data science, computer science, mathematics, engineering, or physics). Ability to build relationships across a wide stakeholder’s group such as product, data and analytics, data science, marketing, and sales. Analytical techniques for extracting insight from a variety of data sources. Demonstrable experience working with a variety of machine learning methods. At least one statistical/coding programming language (e.g. Python, R, Java, C++). Visualisation of complex data using products such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, R Shiny, DASH etc. Desirable skills: Demonstratable experience facilitating and utilising workshops to turning user stories into requirements Knowledge of Agile (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) leadership roles (e.g. Scrum Master, Product Owner). Proficiency in software engineering principles and practices to effectively implement data-driven solutions into production environments (e.g. using front end development frameworks such as React). Knowledge of Data Architecture software and practices. (e.g. SQL, Apache). Experience developing and implementing Data Strategy plans for a range of clients’ data processes.
