Pension Risk Transfer / Buy Out Project Manager

With the significant increase in pension risk transfer activity, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced consultant who is enthusiastic about risk transfer projects and passionate about achieving good outcomes for trustees, sponsors and members alike, to join a highly successful Post Transaction Team.

As a Senior Consultant, Post Transaction Specialist your role will include :

Working on a variety of projects to assist schemes as they navigate the move from completing a buy-in transaction to buy-out and ultimate wind-up. Advising across the full range of risk settlement options Journey planning and de-risking strategy, including member data, scheme benefits, investment strategy, liability management. Building relationships with your clients, their advisers and insurers to ensure a smooth and successful transition Actively project managing the process to ensure progression in a timely fashion Finding pragmatic solutions to any issues that arise

You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the strategy of the wider team, attend networking events/conferences and contribute to new business tenders.

Your profile:

We are looking for an individual with significant UK Defined Benefit experience, who wants to play an important role in the continued development of the team. We’re looking for someone who can both excel in the core of the role and enjoy playing a broader role in shaping the set-up of the business unit.

What we’re looking for:

As this is a highly specialised team, we’re looking for specific experience. The right candidate will have the following experience:

Demonstrable experience in a pensions consulting environment or with a bulk annuity provider Proven experience of insurer post transaction processes and wider aspects of pension scheme wind-ups Excellent UK pensions technical knowledge and understanding of legislative requirements around wind-ups Excellent project management skills with the ability to develop detailed project plans and drive forward completion of tasks against timescales Ability to establish strong collaborative working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including other advisers, insurers, trustee boards and sponsoring employers
