The Role:

As a Senior Content Writer, you will source impactful stories from across TCS and its (UK/global) customers and create strategic thought leadership assets. This should help to build TCS’s reputation as a thought leader on innovation, sustainability, growth and transformation. In this role you will work to ensure messaging from TCS is consistent and cohesive on a large scale. You will leverage thought leadership assets and content in client communications, media relations and social media. You will also work on the TCS website and on owned and partner events across UK and Ireland. The role supports the Head of Brand Engagement in developing strategies, plans and execution of thought leadership assets and content driving the TCS Brand in UK. As part of our Communications and Marketing team, you’ll work closely with communications, branding, and marketing teams in the UK to explain what TCS does, its USPs and ways of working. This is a varied, interesting and fulfilling role and you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team of PR/communications professionals, marketers, branding and social media experts.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Write and edit a wide variety of content, such as blog posts, posters, presentations, film scripts or storyboards, speeches, op-eds, and strategy papers.
  • Communicate with and explain ideas and plans with the public, employees, external stakeholders, and even politicians.
  • Translate strategy and data in to compelling, concrete messaging, in alignment with the TCS brand.
  • Drive and own TCS UK corporate messaging framework in an organized, structured and accessible way.
  • Ensure assets (blogs, videos, speeches etc.) are in alignment with TCS UK messaging and the TCS brand.
  • Actively source relevant thought leadership topics and content that supports TCS UK messaging/storytelling and make suitable for the regional comms teams to use towards their key audiences (business and IT).
  • Leverage TCS owned, partnership and sponsorship events (e.g. Formula E races and TCS London marathon) to display thought leadership and engage with our audiences on key topics.
  • Identify new events and platforms with relevant stakeholder audiences and facilitate TCS thought leadership presence through speaking opportunities and related engagements.
  • Maintain good relationships and a contact network with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure all project communications activity is delivered.
  • Assist with project managing other marketing projects – such as helping with marketing award submissions, production of surveys, branding and event display material, as well as business as usual communications.
  • Developing and implementing communications plans and working on communications projects and working with internal/external designers and agencies.



Your Profile:

Key skills/knowledge/experience:


  • Professional experience in strategic writing, journalism, or media relations.
  • Excellent writing skills and experience with creating thought leadership content, corporate storytelling, messaging and content creation (including articles, studies, video)
  • Experience in delivering simple, clear copy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to understand technology and articulate the narrative in a simple and compelling way.
  • Well organised with great interpersonal communication and time management skills and the ability to prioritise competing workloads.
  • Proven experience dealing with senior stakeholders and the ability to deliver results whilst prioritising the competing demands of the business.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrable experience in writing and storytelling.
  • Experience of contributing to creative campaigns, presentations, digital, print and video.
  • Proven ability to quickly comprehend information about new topics and produce new written content based on that information.
  • A strong team player and results oriented person, who thrives under pressure and brings a positive attitude to all aspects of their work.
  • Proven ability to work in a complex, international multi-stakeholder and multi-cultural environment.
  • A broad understanding of global technological developments and their potential implications on business, society and sustainability.


Good to have:

  • Design skills will be a great plus point.

Experience in professional services / B2B is preferred but not necessary. Any experience in the IT sector is a plus.
