Design Verification Engineer
Hybrid 2-3 Days in the office
6 Month contract
3D CAD, technical expertise, test failure analysis & tooling knowledge. Product validation experience (Shock, Drop, Cycle Testing)
Based in Coventry– Contractor role
£35 - £40 per hour, Ltd Company, Outside IR35
This well-established global technology company that develops safer, greener and more connected solutions, which enable the future of mobility. Our client designs, develops and manufactures software and hardware solutions. They help automotive OEMs around the world to create vehicles with advanced safety features, electrified architectures and intelligent connectivity. The role of a Design Verification Plan Engineer will involve:
- Develop the wire harness Design Verification Plan aligned to project timing using the customer tool.
- Liaise with the wider EDS team to ensure that the designs conform to all customer and internal requirements / specifications.
- Support the wider engineering team in DFMEA creation and maintenance.
- Create and maintain regular DV Reports and glide paths to report out project status.
- Ensure all test reports are fully uploaded. - Validate and update as required the project DV Plans as cascaded.
- Schedule all Requirement Test Cases in alignment with project timing and project build events.
- Support Virtual and Physical Fresh Eyes / Inch by Inch.
- Support the wider engineering team in creating and progressing SDS Exceptions and achieving signoff.
- Maintain a register of all SDS Exceptions.
The Design Verification Plan Engineer will need to have the following experience:
- Degree in Engineering, or related technical field or equivalent experience in lieu of education
- Demonstrates a detailed and extensive technical expertise and application of engineering principles, concepts, theory, and practice
- Test failure analysis and solution validation to complete successful product development.
- Product validation experience (Shock/Drop, Cycle Testing, Environmental Testing).
- Demonstrated knowledge of tooling and materials process validation
- Strong 3D CAD understanding
- Analytic problem-solving skills, including knowledge of 8D, Six Sigma, DOE or similar disciplines
- Schedule and milestone management
- Provide cross-functional program integration support to ensure team success.
