The Senior Director of Marketing leads the cross-functional development and execution of the International marketing strategy for existing, emerging, and new products, building strategic programs to grow, protect and defend the portfolio. Cross-functional teams typically include Medical, Policy, Advocacy and Government Affairs, Market Access, Sales, Legal, Regulatory, supply Chain, Global Commercial Development and Communications.

The role is for the International brands strategy and marketing plans in alliance with key stakeholders and accountable for monitoring and understanding key market dynamics that may positively or negatively impact the business and cross-functionally coordinating working groups to manage strategic engagement and responses. The Senior Director is also the commercial voice for International Commercial Operations team as it relates to global commercial development with a seat on the Therapeutic Area Leadership Team (TALT) as well as other global, cross-regional, and cross-functional working groups.

This role is a member of the International Commercial Leadership Team and is responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of all aspects of the business strategy pertaining to his/her areas of responsibilities.  The role also supports VP, International Commercial in the development and implementation of the long-range plans and commercial strategies.

Responsibilities include: -

  • Collaborate with the Country/Cluster leaders to drive the International vaccine business.
  • Work within the ICLT to develop vision and strategies that improve and create value for our business and our customers.
  • Provide insight and leadership beyond marketing to deliver the business strategy.
  • Work with an enterprise mindset enrolling and collaborating with decisiveness to achieve organizational goals
  • Cultivate an atmosphere of cross-functional collaboration and reciprocal communication that creates a winning environment and inspires all to hold themselves and others accountable for delivering excellence.
  • Provide environments for the gathering of market intelligence to understand competitive landscape to ensure the ICLT is on the forefront of providing sounds strategic direction and alignment.
  • Influence SQLT on key market events with a focus on educating on the issues and securing buy-in and investments, as needed, for short- and long-term growth.
  • Assure the appropriate resourcing against those strategies to action the tactics and actions of those strategies
  • Drive the annual Long-Range Plan and 5-year segment plan in concert with key ICLT partners.
  • Support the development and monitoring of KPIs for the International business
  • Owns and drives the strategic planning process for the International business.
  • Accountable for the development and implementation of marketing strategy and operational plans for existing and new products within the influenza vaccine portfolio.
  • Establish International product and service differentiation strategy, articulate strategic imperatives, and with the Marketing Team, develop tactical plan to achieve commercial objectives
  • Lead the development of a differentiated portfolio, brand and technology positioning that supports commercial strategy and the Seqirus value story
  • Acts as the internal champion of international pricing recommenders across the enterprise.
  • Understand market dynamics with ability to monitor portfolio, brand performance and competitive atmosphere to rapidly identify changes needed to strategic direction or operational tactics.
  • Oversees agency partners to plan, develop, implement, and measure global tactics are consistent with brand strategy and bold promise.
  • Cultivate an atmosphere of cross-functional collaboration and reciprocal communication that creates a winning environment to drive the CSL Seqirus business strategy and enhance public health
  • Educates and informs internal stakeholders of International Commercial strategy to ensure enterprise enrollment and engagement to ensure alignment of commercial priorities
  • Lead across both internal and external matrix team members to drive understanding, alignment, and execution of the strategic plan
  • Work directly with the Commercial Development team to align priorities and build partnerships to help expand immunization rates
  • Leads key International commercial projects that impacts our commercial strategy
  • Collaborate with leaders across the organization to understand the market dynamics and analytic needs to support and influence the business
  • Advise the global commercial development team on key strategic initiatives and projects to ensure enrolment and influence decision making to support enterprise and International Commercial goals and objectives.
  • Participate in global working group as it relates to global intelligence, strategic and analytic projects.
  • Support and communicate the outputs from key global initiatives and read outs to the ICLT
  • Sit as the International Commercial representative on the Vaccine Therapeutic Area Leadership Team (TALT)
  • Provides the International position on global business cases to drive commercial investments.
  • Represents a senior International Commercial voice on the Global Product Leadership Team.
  • Identified key regional issues that need global working groups to drive the International Commercial position.
  • Oversees the International LRP cross-functional working group to drive long-term company investments that support the enterprise and International Commercial goals and objectives.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience: -

  • Bachelors' degree in business/marketing, life sciences or healthcare discipline; MBA or other graduate degree preferred
  • Minimum 12+ years' healthcare experience with 8+ years' pharmaceutical/ biotech sales and marketing experience
  • Record of accomplishment across several commercial functions
  • Significant experience in launching new and growing established products
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing strategic marketing plans
  • 7+ years’ experience leading and managing teams in a global organization
  • Senior leadership and stakeholder management competencies, including strategic thinking, building, and optimizing teams.
  • Proven ability to influence and motivate Senior Leadership, cross-functional peers, and subordinates
  • Exceptional ability to build consensus through influence management across cross-functional teams and align against common goals
  • Knowledge of relevant business, legal, compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrated communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in ambiguity and a growing organization, and leading teams through change.
  • Thinks beyond and incorporates internal and external factors into business strategy
  • Natural business curiosity with proven experience of ability to harness knowledge in developing strategy
