Job DescriptionIn this role, you will be responsible for the successful development, planning, and execution of external and internal communications strategies and programs that align with the Unit4’s mission and vision, and its business objectives. You and your team will lead the creation and oversight of proven strategies to maintain a dynamic flow of engaging, relevant and timely corporate, product and brand information to internal and external stakeholders, and play a key role in the company’s response to reputational issues. Reporting to the CMO, you must have experience across public relations, social media, executive communications, crisis communications, and thought leadership, as well as advising executive leadership.
Your Responsibilities at Unit4
- Define the Corporate Communications vision and strategy, and lead the team to deliver extraordinary results
- Proactively build communications campaigns to advance the company's mission, strategy, business objectives and culture, externally and internally.
- Provide proactive & reactive crisis/issues management support to the leadership team
- Lead a robust media relations function, with a focus on delivering exceptional results that effectively position Unit4 in its key markets including North America, EMEA and APAC, and its target industries/verticals.
- Develop and maintain excellent relationships with journalists and influencers
- Expand social media reach and engagement, and develop authentic influencer relationships across a broad spectrum of channels
- Serve as Company spokesperson as needed for certain media, analyst and public speaking engagements
- Collaborate cross-functionally across the organization to deliver on our communications strategy
- Evolve internal communications and partner with People Success (HR) on our employer brand including internal communications processes and guidelines for how we talk to and engage with our employees.
- Drive accountability to deliver on quarterly global OKRs; a data-driven approach to corporate communications is a must
- Manage our agency partner relationships across all regions
- Build, train and retain an exceptional team of communications professionals, globally
- Bring strong vision and leadership to evolve the function by building new programs and developing required skills
- 15+ years of B2B corporate marketing and communications leadership/management experience, including
- Direct experience in the enterprise software industry and SaaS. ERP experience a plus
- Demonstrated expertise in driving multi-channel awareness and establishing a compelling corporate voice
- Ability to create engaging stories and campaigns that showcase trends, outcomes and customer success
- Analytical skills, including an understanding of key financial metrics and communications requirements relevant to a PE-owned company, as well as M&A communications experience
- Extensive experience working with media, including top-tier national, regional, financial, and trade outlets across North America, EMEA and APAC
- Ability to work one-on-one with business leaders (at all levels of the organization) on communications projects from conception to launch, and provide strategic advice and execution support throughout the process
- Executive presence; ability to think on his/her feet and maintain calm demeanor under pressure
- Strong communicator, oral and written, with confidence to develop and present ideas
- Balance of strategic vision and tactical execution with a high degree of creativity, flexibility, energy and enthusiasm
- Adept at managing multiple projects and deadlines with the ability to lead through ambiguity and change
- Excellent planning, organizational and project management skills
- Demonstrated experience developing communications strategy and tactics, and making recommendations as it relates to new or evolving situations
- Strong team ethic and collaborative work style; but must be able to work independently, assume responsibility and be accountable. Ability to manage and coach, partner with peers and exhibit a global mindset
- Proven experience with change management and organizational transformation
- University degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, or related field required
