SYR Electrical Engineer Position

SYR is seeking a highly experienced electrical engineer interested in joining a leading employer in the field of maritime decarbonisation. With a strong pedigree in engineering consultancy, this organization has grown steadily to provide innovative solutions aimed at enhancing maritime performance and reducing carbon emissions.

Their major projects have gained international recognition, attracting attention from prominent maritime employers. The team has now expanded to nearly 50 members, covering a wide range of disciplines. As one of their major projects evolves and gains more customers, they are establishing a dedicated team to focus on this product and are looking for a highly experienced electrical engineer to drive improvements and advancements in their systems for enhanced performance and reliability.

This role is vital to the ongoing development of the product and includes the following responsibilities:

  1. Designing and implementing large electrical systems and installations
  2. Creating schematics and guidelines for shipyard clients to follow during the installation of these specific systems
  3. Ensuring all work is compliant and meets ATEX regulations
  4. Leading teams and collaborating with broader project teams to find positive engineering solutions using your electrical expertise

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, with a solid understanding of large marine electrical projects. You should comprehend the challenges associated with such projects and be capable of designing and specifying systems that align with the ATEX framework while meeting compliance requirements in both marine and electrical applications.
