Job Title: Senior/Associate Energy Consultant

Location: Manchester or Leeds Hybrid

Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 basic

Role Overview:

The Green Recruitment Company are delighted to be partnered with an independent real estate consultancy offering sustainability services across the built environment. Our client are now seeking to onboard a Senior Energy Consultant to join a highly skilled team in delivering energy improvement and optimisation services to UK customers.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialist advice to reduce energy and carbon use in the built environment
  • Model a range of building types using IES VE with the goal of energy optimisation and decarbonization
  • Develop product offering
  • Advise clients and project leaders on the technical and economic performance of a range of low carbon energy, sustainable measures, technologies and holistic solutions for the built environment
  • Providing professional work to clients including but not limited to; non-domestic EPC’s, MEES reports, ADL2A Dynamic simulation and SBEM calculations
  • Drive Business Development and Client Care
  • Support colleagues in relation to the delivery of ESG built environment solutions
  • Exhibit thorough expertise in IES-VE, including modules like VE Compliance, Radiance, Apache HVAC, Apache Systems, MacroFlow, MicroFlow, and Vista-Pro, and the ability to extract sustainability outputs (e.g., for BREEAM, LEED) from IES-VE


Your Profile:

  • Degree in Mechanical or Thermal Engineering / Building Services Engineering / Building Physics and preferably master's in building service engineering or relevant sustainability course (CIBSE, IMECH, IET, etc.)
  • Previous experience in a similar role with a passion for low carbon, low energy design. A background in Building Physics and passive design is preferable.
  • Extensive experience modelling a range of building types using IES
  • E.P.C. experience to NDEA Level 5
  • Experience of the minimum energy efficiency standards and providing strategic risk reduction advice to clients
  • Experience of advising on environmental technical design, planning and building regulation compliance documentation, as well as project and resource management
  • Previous experience mentoring/managing a team
  • Passionate about a Sustainable Built Environment
  • Demonstrates a wider understanding of complex sustainability problems associated with a range of built environment issues and identify appropriate solutions through sound sustainability principles
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel
  • A driving licence
