Join Our Journey

Our UK based operations are continuing to grow, so we’re looking to hire an experienced Senior Event Manager to join our existing team. In this role you will lead the development, planning and execution of a variety of event types from the point of concept to completion. The successful candidate will be responsible for creative inputs and management of all facets of logistically complicated events.

This is a hybrid position, you’ll be required to be in the office 2-3 days a week and homeworking the remainder of the week unless you have events to manage. Flexibility is essential for this role.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage a portfolio of virtual, hybrid and face-to-face events for a variety of audiences.
  • Lead and manage complex events, both physical and digital, including planning, execution and issue management.
  • Day to day client contact; working directly with mid/senior level client and stakeholders.
  • Support creative briefings, contributing creatively and utilising past experiences, market trends and research.
  • Design, build and present client proposals.
  • Maintain a specialist knowledge of the events environment, conduct competitor and trend analysis to assess and develop new ideas and opportunities.
  • Ensure we are at the forefront of the latest event ideas and technologies.
  • Work closely with the Event Account manager to build client relationships, driving excellent client servicing to support new business and growth.
  • Secure both repeat business and new business, whilst ensuring projects are as profitable as possible.
  • Coordinating all aspects of an event to ensure that it meets requirements and deadlines.
  • Develop and conduct events in line with Health, Safety and Safeguarding guidelines, conducting any necessary risk assessments as required. Ensuring all relevant documentation received.
  • Supplier relationship management.
  • Input into the annual Marketing plan to provide feedback, support, and ideas regarding content and raise the GD Events profile.
  • Event debrief meetings and reporting.
  • Budget management and reconciliation.
  • Support the Director of events on ad hoc projects as required.

What we’re looking for

  • 5 years + experience working on large scale events (500+ attendees).
  • Experience in event, design and activation projects.
  • Extensive experience of a wide variety of events, digital, hybrid and in person such as conferences, incentive trips, VIP Hospitality experiences, employee engagement events, sales and training conferences.
  • Client & supplier management.
  • Excellent finance and budget management.
