JOB PURPOSE

The main purpose of this role is to oversee and support the ‘Operations’ of the RacingLine Events department, reporting into the Commercial Director and Events Director. This includes the day-to-day management of the Events Team.

JOB ROLE

SENIOR EVENTS MANAGER - RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage events from start to finish as and when they are briefed in, in particular the larger scale events as and when awarded
  • Manage budgets in accordance to any live events
  • Support the Events Team (all) with day-to-day queries, deadlines, checking of emails to client e.g. try to answer queries before consulting the Events Director.
  • Provide guidance and knowledge on the events where required e.g. challenging the team to what they are putting forward, is this the best for the client
  • Attend daily update meetings with the Events Team
  • Support the Commercial Director and Events Director with new business proposals
  • Support with budget management – ensuring invoicing is fully up to date and reports ready for the Commercial Director
  • Be the main contact for new clients in the initial stages until event is passed over to Events Manager
  • Oversee the management of freelance and event support staff – help to grow the exiting contact list
  • Provide event experience knowledge at all times to the Events Team ensuring the best approaches are used at all times
  • Approve all copy before it leaves the building
  • Sign event related contracts for the Events Team
  • Oversee the Events Team from a HR perspective e.g. approving holidays, team reviews with Commercial Director.
  • Report any team performance concerns to the Commercial Director to manage accordingly
  • Ensure event development for the team is in place e.g. FAM trips, training courses, expos are attended etc.
  • Support the Events Director with the distribution of the events as and when they are awarded
  • Attend regular update meetings with the Commercial Director and Events Director to ensure the department is on track with live events and staff issues.

 

OBJECTIVES

  • Always ensure compliance with the Senior Events Account Manager role
  • Maintain the existing client relationships
  • Build, grow and develop the relationships with new clients
  • Maintain the 24hr response time to the client
  • Deliver multiple events to deadline
  • Ensure budgets are completed within the deadline
  • Help to ensure the team dynamics and relationships are maintained

WORKING CONDITIONS

Your main place of work will be 4 Quatro Park, Tanners Drive, Blakelands, Milton Keynes.


As with all events work, you will be required to travel and work away from home from time to time.

Your normal hours of work are from 0900 to 1730 Monday to Friday but will also include weekends for events, therefore, you will be expected to work such hours as are necessary to complete the tasks allotted to you and no overtime payments are made.


If requested and authorised some time off in lieu can be taken in recognition of extra days worked.
