We are currently working with a leading Staffing and Recruitment company who are looking for a Senior Finance Assistant to join their Central London team. dedicated to providing exceptional services to our clients. With a focus on excellence and innovation, they are seeking a skilled Senior Finance Assistant specializing in payroll to join their dynamic finance team.

Position Overview:

As a Senior Finance Assistant, you will be the payroll specialist within their finance department, responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for their employees. This role requires a high level of expertise in payroll management, strong Excel skills, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process monthly payroll accurately and on time for all employees, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and company policies.
  • Manage payroll queries and discrepancies effectively, providing timely and accurate resolutions.
  • Ensure all payroll transactions are processed correctly, including salaries, bonuses, overtime, and deductions.
  • Calculate and process statutory payments such as PAYE, NI, and pensions.
  • Prepare and submit payroll-related reports to management and external agencies as required.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data in compliance with GDPR regulations.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end payroll procedures.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar payroll and management accounting-focused role, preferably within the professional services or recruitment sector.
  • Excellent understanding of payroll processes, legislation, and regulations.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and complex formulas.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., Sage, ADP) is advantageous.
  • Relevant qualifications in payroll administration or accounting are desirable.
