We are currently seeking a Senior Fire Alarm Engineer to to join an extremely reputable, family-run SME based in Bridgwater. As an Senior Fire Alarm Engineer your role will be to conduct maintenance and repairs to Fire Alarms, Emergency Lighting, and other life safety systems, including fault finding and emergency call outs. You will be working within specialist industry sectors for a company that provide a unique and comprehensive fire protection solution.

The role will be field based with most works taking place within 100-200 miles from Bridgwater, door-to-door travel is paid and a company vehicle is provided. Works can be anywhere in the country, so a willingness to travel and stay away if required, is essential.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conducting routine maintenance and repairs to Fire Alarms, Emergency Lighting, and other life safety systems, including fault finding and emergency call outs
  • Producing defects and condition reports of customers' systems and equipment
  • Providing informal advice to customers to ensure opportunities to improve fire safety are not missed, and that the basic principles of fire alarm and emergency lighting systems are understood
  • Accurately recording all activities on company software system including capturing photos and updating asset registers
  • Good working knowledge of BS5839 and BS5266

Requirements

  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Minimum 4 years' experience servicing and fault finding on Fire Alarms and Emergency Lighting
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills with both customers and colleagues
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Exceptional time management, ability to manage own workload within deadlines and cope under pressure
  • Willingness to learn, act with integrity, professionalism and responsibility
  • Good working knowledge of BS5839 and BS5266
  • UK-recognised training certificate relating to Fire Detection and Alarm systems
  • Collaborate with like-minded colleagues to maintain a culture of continuous improvement

40 hours per week
