Your Role 

As part of our growth, we are looking for a Senior Front End Developer to join our Front End team. You’ll be integral to shaping and driving the Front End department alongside our Lead Front End Developer delivering and optimising digital products, being hands on as early as the pitch process, project estimations right up to the delivery and beyond in continuous improvement and support processes. You’ll put performance, accessibility, sustainability, and best practice at the core of all the work you deliver. Your key skills will be in HTML, CSS, SVG and JavaScript with experience in frameworks and processes like React and Svelte built around these core languages. 

 

Your main responsibilities will include: 


  • Leading client projects in a frontend developer capacity to a high standard 
  • Developing the direction of the UI department, tooling and processes in line with Netcel’s growth plans and strategic objectives 
  • Assisting in digital product definition, optimisation, frontend architecture and estimations for our clients 
  • Taking shared ownership of the design and UX to influence frontend requirements to build best-in-class experiences 
  • Keeping up with the ever-changing technical landscape, staying up to date with web standards as well as suggesting new technologies and ways of working in projects 
  • Onboarding, mentoring and coaching team members to enable their development and ability to grow within the company alongside the Lead Frontend Developer 

 

What we are looking for 

The ideal candidate will have: 


  • Many years of experience in a similar role delivering web solutions and experiences using the latest frameworks and technologies, preferably to external clients in a consultancy setting 
  • Thorough understanding of web technology using HTML5, CSS including pre-processors like SASS, Styled Components and Tailwind. 
  • Excellent understanding of HTML semantics along with ARIA, SVG and experience with templating languages such as Nunjucks, Razor and Handlebars. 
  • Significant experience with JavaScript ES6+ and OO programming with some experience with frameworks and libraries such as React, Typescript, Svelte, NextJS, Nodes.js and Tinymce4+ 
  • Knowledge of modern frontend development workflows such as NPM/Yarn, RollupJS and Webpack. 
  • Solid understanding of responsive design, mobile web development, performance optimisation, accessibility and sustainability. 
  • Experience working with a wider technical team such as Experience Design, Business Analysts and Quality Assurance providing support and direction alongside the Lead UI Developer.  
  • Experience of digital products using Digital Experience Platforms (such as Optimizely, Adobe, Sitecore, Acquia or similar)
