As a Full Stack Engineer at TourHero, you will play a key role in building our social travel platform. You'll be responsible for designing and implementing features, creating efficient and scalable backend systems, and developing high-quality frontend experiences. You'll work closely with the product and design teams to bring our vision to life and create delightful user experiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, and maintain web applications and APIs using modern web technologies
  • Collaborate with product managers and designers to define, design, and implement new features
  • Write efficient, clean, and reusable code that can be easily maintained and scaled
  • Optimize performance and user experience across different devices and platforms
  • Ensure code quality through testing, code reviews, and documentation
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, and continuously improve your knowledge and skills
  • Work in an Agile development environment, participating in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives
  • Contribute to the overall architecture and technical direction of the platform

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a full stack engineer or similar role
  • Strong proficiency in Ruby on Rails is mandatory
  • Strong proficiency in at least one modern frontend framework (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js)
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, as well as web standards and accessibility
  • Experience with databases and data modeling
  • Knowledge of software engineering best practices including version control, testing methodologies, and continuous integration/continuous deployment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience in a fast-paced start-up environment is a major advantage.
  • Passion for travel and a deep understanding of the travel industry is a plus
  • This position is an on-site position in London, near Moorgate Station. 4 days in office and 1 day work from home.
