The opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Group Accountant to join our team at Iris London. Reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the monthly reporting function. This includes reporting both actual and planned results, analytics and forecasting across the group.

You will play an integral role in ensuring accurate and timely reporting, working very closely with the Group Financial Controller, the Group Finance Director, and the rest of the Group Finance team (based in both London and Macedonia). This role will require a confident individual with a good financial reporting and technical knowledge and an analytical background who is organised, methodical and possesses the skills to influence others.

In this role, you will work closely with the Group Finance Director, Group Finance team and worldwide Financial Directors and Management Accountants.

How you'd spend your day?

Your responsibilities as a Senior Group Accountant will include:

  • Responsible for elements of the group reporting function (including consolidation process) ensuring accurate and timely submission of the financial reporting requirements to Iris’ board of directors and listed parent company, Cheil.
  • Assist with quarterly and annual audits.
  • Regional representative for the APAC agencies, involving detailed balance sheet review of monthly agency packs and review of local statutory accounts before filing.
  • Assist with new consolidation system implementation (due to go live in July 23), including building new monthly management reporting files.
  • Production of Statutory Accounts for legal entities and supporting Group Tax team with information to prepare tax returns.
  • Assist with driving group policies, maintain best practice, compliance with legal and financial reporting frameworks as well as driving initiatives to maximise shareholder wealth.
  • Ensure the financial information/control framework is sufficiently robust and maintained.
  • Developing / identifying the tools and processes needed to ensure that we have the correct data to allow us to be more accountable, accurate and timely in our reporting and our ability to react.
  • Liaison with external advisors, including lawyers and auditors.
  • Assist with the production of commercial analyses for the Group.
  • Other assistance on a wide range of projects as required by the Group Financial Director and the Group Financial Controller (including but not limited to) intercompany clean-up project and investment accounting.

What we're looking for

  • 2-3 years PQE, holding a recognised accounting qualification.
  • A strong technical accountant, audit experience preferable.
  • IFRS and FRS 102 experience.
  • Experience of working as part of a team.
  • Group Finance experience is desirable.
  • Agency experience preferred but not essential.
  • Demonstrate entrepreneurial can-do attitude, always delivering on tasks through to conclusion within a timely manner.
  • Hands on with an eye for detail but able to appreciate the bigger picture.
