Senior Group Risk Consultant (Intermediary Sales)

The role:
We are looking for an employee benefits group risk specialist that can add immediate value to Yulife through an established network of broker and client relationships in the South African market.
Day to day responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Introducing new brokers and managing a panel of existing brokers and broker consultants to drive new quotes and conversions
- Ensure that enough pipeline and deals are created to achieve sales targets
- Ensure that the sales reporting system is kept up to date with latest deals and statuses of those
- Act as the middleman on queries relating to existing and new policies.
- First point of contact for escalated queries relating to the sales process
The specific knowledge we need:
- A wide and very sound employee benefits knowledge that has been established over years of experience
- Strong group risk and employee benefits technical skills
- Excellent presentation skills
- Excellent broker relationship skills with diverse personalities
- Relationships with strategic clients will be an advantage
- Very good listening skills
- The ability to spot and focus on real opportunities
- Capitalising on those rare opportunities by closing the deal
The ideal candidate will have:
- RE5 and higher qualification
- Class of business 3 & 4 Long Term Insurance and Pension Fund Benefits
- 10 years or longer experience as an employee benefits specialist
- Extensive knowledge of the Group Risk Market
- Have an established network of contacts that can help accelerate growth in the SA market
- Drive and ambition
- Good organisation skills and an ability to work to deadlines
- Understanding how the broker market works and the ability to ensure that they are well serviced
- Understanding of how other departments work and how sales feeds into these areas
- High level of presentation and telephone skills 4 years + of Group Risk experience
- Be able to work as a team player as well as individually
