We are looking for a senior hardware engineer to join its team on a permanent, full-time basis in Glasgow.

As a senior hardware engineer, you will work as part of a driven product development team whose focus is to develop and build automated systems and robotic platforms. You will bring your knowledge in advanced mechatronics and commercial-grade hardware development to lead and support projects from concept through to launch.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing technologies into commercial-grade solutions that meet business, user experience, and operational needs in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
  • Lead fast-turnaround mechatronic projects.
  • Ensure designs are easy to manufacture and maintain for global deployment.
  • Work with the Hardware Systems Architect to ensure consistent engineering practices and technologies across all products.
  • Improve company efficiency quickly to maximise the value of current and future technology products.
  • Implement new processes to reduce costs, increase quality, improve turnaround time, and maximise overall throughput.

  • Proven track record in creating successful mechatronics and fluidic solutions to technical problems.
  • Experience with various manufacturing and fabrication methods (machining, sheet metal forming, moulding, 3D printing).
  • Strong understanding of core mechanical engineering principles (material selection, GD&T, fluid mechanics).
  • Experience designing low-pressure pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and linear and rotating mechanical systems.
  • Clear communication with external partners for rapid and cost-effective delivery of materials and components.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Hardworking and excited to contribute to the company's mission.

This is an exciting opportunity for a driven individual to be part of an innovative, forward-thinking organisation. If you have the required qualifications and experience, please apply, or contact me directly at lewis@cranleighstem.co.uk / 01483 904 984.
