Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious Senior Interior Designer, with 7+ years post-qualification experience, to join our team in Glasgow.

This is an exciting time of change within our practice and the right candidate will have a drive to succeed and help shape the future of our business.

We are looking for someone to lead and be part of a small but growing team, working primarily on hotel projects, but experience in other fields of design would also be desirable such as high end residential and hospitality venues.

BA (Hons) in Interior Design is essential.

  • Adaptable, flexible and able to work within a small/medium studio
  • Confident and professional client facing skills and abilities – comfortable attending meetings, site visits and excellent presenting skills
  • Strong co-ordination & communication skills and the ability to liaise with and communicate ideas and solutions with clients, consultants and suppliers
  • A team player, with good leadership skills
  • Excellent organisation skills, and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Comfortable working to a deadline in a fast paced, busy environment
  • Self-motivated with a clear ability to use initiative & be pro-active
  • Good technical background and the ability to fully understand, produce and oversee technical and furniture drawings, schedules and specifications
  • Ability to produce good hand drawings to illustrate ideas.
  • Extremely confident using AutoCAD, Indesign, and Photoshop under pressure. Sketchup and knowledge of Revit would be advantageous.
  • Ability to travel within the UK for client and site meetings, on your own or with other team members, dealing with clients, contractors and suppliers.

Role in Team

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Gauge understanding of clients brief and project deliverablesand manage a project from original brief through to completion
  • Adapt and respond to clients’ requirements as they develop and recognise and manage change when this exceeds scope of services and original brief
  • With the support of the directors, provide the creative direction on assigned projects, encouraging the team to always strive for excellence
  • Oversee and maintain concept through design development and implementation, with the support of other team members
  • Run and manage projects on your own with the support of junior designers
  • Updating your own documents, minutes and schedules
  • Produce mood presentations using images, sketches, samples boards etc. to bestcommunicate ideas
  • Space plan to a clients’ brief
  • Select FF & E and producing schedules
  • Produce detailed drawing packages and oversee drawings of team members
  • Confident and experienced in checking and marking up other consultant’s andmanufacturer’s drawings
  • Set and meet project deadlines
  • Attend site meetings, representing the company and client’s interests
  • Meet with brand representatives to better understand product specification and latest trends.
